Customer Ratings & Reviews

Rated 4.8 out of 5 by 51 reviewers.
Rated 5 out of 5 by High quality, healthy choice with hidden savings. I have a spayed, indoor cat. She is half coon cat also. I did not want to get to a point where she is overweight so I researched and found Blue Buffalo Wilderness Weight Control Chicken Recipe Dry Cat Food. Buffy has been eating it for 2 months now. She lost .3 lbs according to the vet in the 3 months since she was last there (she is now only .5 lbs overweight). The vet says she looks great. Dr. Amy commented on how shiny and full her coat is. The feeding guidelines suggest that Buffy should be eating a little over a cup a day. 1 cup is the low end for the lowest weight cat in her group. I feed Buffy 1 cup and she always leaves about 1/8 c. I now cut back on the cup of food to just under the cup. She is still leaving a little. Because she is eating less than is recommended, I consider this hidden savings. I also consider this savings because Buffy's previous cat food she was ravenous to eat. The recommended serving size was 1 1/2 cups and she would eat every drop and look for more. Blue may at first glance appear more expensive but in the long run it is the less expensive and healthier choice. December 15, 2012
Rated 5 out of 5 by Fabulous cat food! I had to change cat food to try to help my kitten stop chomping on her fur and creating hot spots. I thought she might be allergic to grains so I got this food. I have two cats, one kitten and one adult - they devour this stuff and my kitten's hot spots are no more (keeping my fingers crossed, it's been a month or more since she's had them). They love the food (I also sprinkle with fish oil) and I have the food delivered from Mr. Chewy on a regular basis. December 17, 2012
Rated 5 out of 5 by Male diabetic cat We looked into this Blue Wilderness for our male cat who needs primarily protein due to diabetes. It has turned out to be agreeable to our three female cats also. We purchased three different types to see which they liked best. They seem to prefer the weight control perhaps because it does not contain fish meal. The only fish our cats will eat is the raw or cooked fish we catch! ( : Thank goodness our male cat loves this food as he enjoys dry food as well as, wet food. September 4, 2012
Rated 5 out of 5 by My 10 yr. old Pal, Tiger is gettin' Buff!! My companion Tiger was very overweight. After 2 mos. on B. B. Wilderness Weight Control Chicken his body is noticeably leaner, yet more muscular! His ol' choppers are hard and white, #no cat-breath!#. Tiger's got more energy, bright eyes and a lustrous coat. My Vet. says he rarely sees a Senior Cat in such great general health! Good News for me and Tiger both! I'd like to keep my sweet codger around for a long while yet. Oh. Yeah.'s service can not be beat. ALWAYS on time. July 31, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 Great product Both of mine picky-eaters like it :) Chicken recipe is their definite favorite Blue Buffalo taste. They've been on grain free diet for several years now, and is not easy to find dry food they would it! Thankfully, this one works for us. August 18, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Cats Love it My extended family lost a cat after the 07 recall. We all fed the same food.I switched to Newman's own & my 3 did very well on it. Then after Mr. Newman passed away,I wasn't sure the food would stay the same so I went to Innova EVO.My cat's did fine for the first 2&1/2 years, then the formula or suppliers were changed. My last 2 bags purchased at different times from 2 sites had much dust & crumbling food. My big cat who gulps his food down, vomited almost daily. So I switched 2 Blue Wilderness 1&1/2 years ago.The cats loved it so much, one was gaining weight.I went to this.My 2 cats now are doing great on this food. Super shiny coats, vomiting just about gone, great vet checkups,& oh yes,I free feed the dry.My cats are 8 & 9 year old rescues. July 31, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Excellent cat food. I have an FIV cat. He only eats this cat food and also needs to watch his weight. We are happy with the results of this strict regime. So is he. July 14, 2013
Rated 3 out of 5 by Caused my cats to vomit I have two cats from the same litter. They look and act almost like twins. So if a food affects one, I expect it will affect both. I tried this Wilderness food for the quality, high protein, and lower fat content for weight control. It gave my cats silky fur and lots of energy. They are not picky eaters, but they went crazy for the taste. After finishing their food, they would sit there and lick out their bowl, then switch bowls and lick out their sibling's bowl. But this formula caused vomiting in both cats. They didn't vomit the food. They would vomit on empty stomachs. Just a yellow colored fluid. I switched food, and the vomiting stopped immediately. I then went back to this food and the vomiting resumed within a day. I've used other varieties of Blue Buffalo before, but not the Wilderness. Never had this vomiting problem. I am sure this food is fine, but you don't know in advance if your cat will be affected in the same way. September 23, 2015
