Rated 5 out of 5 by Ann2028 Good door We had problems with raccoons coming through our old door into the garage. The new door locks well and keeps them out. My cat can go out during the day and we lock it at night when the cat is in and the raccoon is out. April 26, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Bigcatmama Finally, a cat door that accommodates larger cat breeds I Love this cat door and so do my two 16 lb cats. The size is what drew me in, but the color options, the ease of installation, and the door locking mechanisms that give your cat complete freedom (or options to only enter or exit) is an added benefit for any pet owner. Rated 5 out of 5 by wolfiecat Great door for your larger cat I have four cats; one skinny, one normal, one short and fat and one tall and, let us say, generously sized. The fat one couldn't get out the old cat door, and the tall one had to struggle, wiggling his hips to angle himself underneath. I can't say they exactly fly through now, but the tall one no longer has to wiggle, and the fat one can now visit the garage and get back in on her on. It works well, and the cats seem to appreciate the fact that the little door is see-through; their old door was opaque, and I think it drove them a little crazy not to be able to see if friend or foe was going to greet them. Rated 5 out of 5 by metalman6000 Great Product This is a great product I got two little Chihuahua type dogs and they use this door with ease. It was very easy to install. Go ahead and buy one you won't regret it. March 21, 2016
Rated 1 out of 5 by Lori515 Not for timid or shy cats If your cats are timid, shy or nervous, this door won't work. My cats were afraid of the door from the start and wanted no part of it. So I started by keeping the flap off for a few days. That was fine, but it let a cool draft come up from the basement. Then I cut a gallon plastic bag and taped the top of it halfway over the opening. That way the cats could still have an opening, but they had to use a little effort to get through. I kept increasing the length of the bag until it finally covered the entire opening. Then I reinforced the thickness of the bag so it would require more effort to push through. All this took almost 2 weeks and involved lots of coaxing with treats. When it seemed my cats were comfortable with that, I switched to the flap. The magnet makes the door close quickly so when they hurried through it, the door pinched their tail. So I pried the magnet out of the flap. That seemed to work for one or two of the cats, but the other two were very wary. That night I came home to three wet spots on my carpet - something they've never done in nine years. I give up. I'll either go back to the plastic bag or replace the door and keep it ajar like it was before I bought the cat flap. Maybe you can't teach an old cat new tricks, but this simply didn't work for my household. November 17, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Jag14 Great door First car door I bought and 100% satisfied. Watch out if your door is hallow. Makes it a little different for installation. I found some scrap wood to put in the middle to hold the door secure. Nice and quiet too. January 20, 2016
