EXCELLENT REVIEW OF EVANGERS VEGETARIAN CANNED DOG/CAT FOOD EVANGERS VEGETARIAN CANNED DOG/CAT FOOD IS THE BEST AND MOST ECONOMICAL NUTRITIOUS CANNED FOOD FOR BOTH DOGS AND CATS WITH ALL NUTRIENTS INCLUDING TAURINE FOR CATS. I HAVE BEEN FEEDING THIS WONDERFUL PRODUCT TO BOTH MY BORDER COLLIE AND POODLE MIXES FOR SEVERAL YEARS AND THEY ARE ALL VERY HEALTHY ANIMALS. AND NO CRUEL SLAUGHTER OF COWS, CHICKENS, TURKEYS, AND OTHER INNOCENT VICIOUSLY VICTIMIZED ANIMALS CRUELLY KILLED FOR "PET FOOD". MORE AND MORE PET FOOD MANUFACTURERS SHALL AND MUST PRODUCE MORE VEGETARIAN PET FOODS FOR THE HEALTH AND WELFARE OF ALL ANIMALS. April 20, 2014
Cats are Obligate Carnivores Cats are physiologically unable to process/use carbohydrates like "Brown Rice" and they REQUIRE meat protein in their diet to thrive as felines. I am baffled by the ingredients in this product and find the "complete dinner" verbiage misleading at best. Please make sure you research before you "go vegetarian" on behalf of your kitty. Seeds in food but not on ingredient list The new cans I received have some type of seed in them. I cannot figure out what the seed is but it's not on the ingredient list. I did feed the first 2 cans from the case to my dog and it turns out she doesn't digest the seeds. They come out the same way they went in......I sent Evangers an email but haven't gotten a response yet. June 14, 2014
The dogs seem to like this I ordered this product for my 3 foster dogs. They all seem to like it. April 23, 2014
My Dog Loves This! I feed my dog a rotating variety of vegetarian dog food, and this is his favorite. I usually buy the Natural Balance brand because it is typically cheaper, but he prefers this one and the cans do not require a can opener, unlike the NB brand. February 5, 2014
Love that this product is USA made The proof is in the can. My dog loves it, and therefore so do I. Quality ingredients, and especially vegetarian, is what I was looking for, as my dog has allergies to meat. November 4, 2013
The dogs and cats LOVE this! We feed our rescue dogs dry Natural Balance Vegetarian food. (The longest lived dogs have all been vegetarian....it is a myth that dogs require animal protein for optimal health). There is more debate over cats' needs for animal protein. All that being said, we bought this canned food primarily for the rescue cats. (If you're concerned about protein, mix in a raw, organic, free range egg, some pea protein...and some taurine). The cats LOVE this food! We feed it once a day and then put out the dry (Diamond Natural Indoor Cat Food) in the afternoon/evening. I am so happy to have found this wonderful alternative to canned 'meated' cat food. And our cats actually like this better! April 3, 2013
First vegetarian canned pet food I've purchased. This veg canned food has lots of wholesome fruits and vegetables and since its suitable for dogs & cats I figured I'd give it a try. The first thing I noticed when I opened a can was the smell. It smells like typical meat-based dog food which my companions found very appetizing. My Chihuahua who has been eating a meatless diet for over a year loves it. My GSD, transitioning to a meatless diet, likes it. And the cat really likes it too! (The cat is on a meat-based LID kibble. The little cans of gourmet cat food are pricey & contain a lot of 'filler' ingredients she doesn't need.) Even if your animals aren't vegetarian or vegan this is a convenient way to give them fruits and vegetables. September 9, 2013
