Felix loves this food Felix, our 8 year old cat, has IBD. Our vet put him on Royal Canin potato and venison which he is not very find of. We use the Evo Venison as a mixer and he is very happy. Would prefer to eat just the EVO but its too rich for his system. September 19, 2013
My Cats Won't Eat It My cats (ages 3 and 12) will eat the Chicken & Turkey, but they sniff the Venison and leave it. It is dryer than the Chicken variety is. I tried to add more water and even fish oil to it, but they were not still not interested. Hopefully the cats at the humane society will appreciate it where my cats did not! August 25, 2013
Good for novel-protein diets My cat has IBD, and he's a picky little jerk. This venison flavor fits the novel-protein diet his doctor gave him, and it's easy on his stomach. He doesn't love it quite as much as the cheaper canned venison options, but he demands variety, so here I am. After you refrigerate the unused portion, it gets kinda stiff and congealed (due to the super-high meat content?), but adding a splash of water before serving makes it acceptable to His Majesty. QUALITY GOOD - BUT MY CATS DIDN'T LIKE IT I USE YOUR WET AND DRY CAT FOOD PRODUCTS ALL THE TIME. I HAVE 3 CATS AND 1 THAT IS DIABETIC SO I THOUGHT I WOULD TRY THIS FLAVOR AS A CHANGE. THEY DIDN'T SEEM TO LIKE IT VERY MUCH. THE INGREDIENTS ARE GOOD SO I AM GIVING SOME TO A FREIND TO SEE IF HER CAT LIKES IT AND SOME I WILL DONATE TO THE LOCAL P.O.A SHELTER FOR THEIR CATS. Maybe If you cat has allergies to certain foods, this might be one of the varieties of grain-free meals to choose. The meat itself seems very dry, so I add some water to the bowl and mix it up when I serve it. The cats seem to find it okay to eat although they don't go wild when I servie it. March 5, 2014
The cat likes it! My Siamese is not only a finicky eater, but is also allergic to most meats. Venison one of the few she can eat. She digs in, so must like it a lot. Thanks for having a great cat food, Chewy! November 10, 2013
A winner in my home! One of my cats, my Russian Blue - Emma, will not touch venison, but my other 2 adopted cats go crazy for it. This brand happens to be their favorite too. I rotate 3 different brands - Nature's Variety Instinct, Natural Balance and Evo and they don't go as crazy for the first 2 as the latter. One thing though is that you have to be careful when reheating any leftover because it can turn to mush if it gets too heated. As long as the quality continues, I will continue to buy it for them. FYI, I did also try the canine caviar brand which can be used for felines as well, and although they liked it at first, they lost interest in it. Since it was a strange texture and did not heat well after any left over was refrigerated, I did not buy again and donated the first case to a near by shelter. June 5, 2013
Cat will not eat this product Although my cat has eaten all of your other hiprotein foods since developing diabetes, he will not touch the venison. I have allowed him several hours when I know he's hungry to give it a try but the food goes untouched. January 12, 2013
