FURminator Short Hair deShedding Edge For Cats
I bought 2. One for my long hair Maine Coon and one for my other 5 short hair kitties. From what I can see there is no difference between the 'long hair' & 'short hair' brushes besides one has a gray plastic piece and the other has a blue plastic piece. If I had known there was no difference I would have only bought one and saved a bunch of money, since these brushes are quite expensive! All in all, it does work well. My kitties seem to enjoy them.

Definitely worth your money!
I've never had another brush for my cat that was this effective. It works to remove the undercoat, which is the major contribution to the fluff in my house. Just make sure that you don't brush them too much or you will remove all of the undercoat!

I can't believe the amount of hair Furminator removes. Makes coat look slicker and smooth, as it gets rid of dead dull hair. Liking it and my cats love their grooming time even more now.

Great against Hairballs
We have a long hair who is always hacking up hairballs and for the longest time, was miserable because of it. We bought the furminator brush hoping it might take some of shedding fur off. Wow, every time we brush her we're amazed at how much fur actually comes off! Since we've been bushing her, she's hardly hacking anything. We also use the Pet Naturals Hairball treats and the combination is great. She's a happy girl again :)

Does a great job grooming
My short haired cat has a thick coat. The FURminator does an excellent job of getting to the base of the coat to get out all the hair that he is shedding. It doesn't bother him and he actually enjoys it. The hair just keeps coming out! I think he is 5 lbs. lighter when I'm done!

Best Cat Comb Ever! Really!
I bought the Furminator (short hair, the purple one) about two months ago. My kids--I mean my cats, love it. They get combed much more frequently now that there is so much payback that you immediately see.
We have 4 cats. Otto is almost 20 and has a large cyst on his side. He has a lot of trouble grooming himself (he has a slipped disk among other things, but he's still doing okay!). The Furminator is gentle enough on Otto, yet it removes so much fur it's amazing he doesn't look like he's lost a lot of fur.
Otto especially likes a nice rubdown with the comb on his jaw and neck.
Shadow has a lustrous coat of longish black fur. He rolls side to side, letting us comb endlessly--unless we spend too much time on his tail. He loves when I (try to) comb the top of his head.
Sisters Minnie and Keeah are very short-haired small girls. I thought this brush might be too heavy on them, but they love it the most. And even with the short hair, a significant amount (though less than Otto and Shadow) of fur is removed each time.
Additionally, Minnie and Keeah are more my kids' cats and they don't spend much time around me. When I comb them, I think we feel a little closer to one another. :)
This successful grooming tool helps all of my kitties maintain a healthy, glossy coat, and they haven't enjoyed combing as much as they do with this tool.
