My cat was diagnosed with CRF about 6 months ago. He spent a week in kitty ICU and we almost lost him. With our vets knowledge we tries several prescription foods. He wouldn't eat. I did a lot of research on line, found Hi-tor, called them, read every review then tried it. He liked it very much but started to get bored. We still feed it as his #1 food, but spike it up a little with either Royal Canin LP Morsels in Gravy, or Weruva Fowl Ball. He now eats with enjoyment, looks and acts like he did before this sickness. I have no intentions of changing his diet. In a few weeks we go back for another blood test and that will tell the story. But as I wrote, looking at him one would never know how close he was to the end

Rated 4 out of 5 by PegG My cat found this more palatable than the prescription foods for CRF cats.
My cat ate prescription foods, but reluctantly and usually only if garnished with one of her favorite non-prescription canned foods. Then she stopped eating the prescription foods entirely. Based on other reviews, I tried HI-TOR Neo, and she eats it enthusiastically. The reasons I didn't give it 5 stars are because the phosphorous and protein numbers aren't quite those of prescription foods, and because it contains meat by-products as a primary ingredient.

My 16 yr old CREX has kidney failure and is getting pickier about food. This food seems to have the right things for kidney problems. I do have to put another brands tuna on it in order for him to eat better.

My 19 year old cat loves this food. He was diagnosed with renal issues and put on a special diet. I tried several foods and this is his favorite. I mix it with some warm water to make it easier for him to eat and get additional fluid. He is doing very well and thriving.

by kimc64 Our cats love it!
We were told cats don't take too well to "kidney food". Au contraire! Our cats love it. And the price can't be beat!

My baby has been in kidney failure for 2 years. We spend a ton of money on vitamins meds and food a month. He recently started to loose weight & the vet was getting concerned. After reading the reviews on Hi Tor and with my vets approval, I started feeding this to my cat. Not only am I saving money each month but my cat is healthier and gaining weight. My vet is very impressed with his results and my cat is happy & healthy!

Rated 4 out of 5 by Ellwoodsmom recommended for pick eaters
MY 15 year old cat was recently diagnosed with low renal function. He is a very picky eater and is not a fan of wet food. He has tried Hills, Science Diet and the Iams brand of renal cat food and after a few days of each he refuses to eat any. I've had good luck with this brand. I'm halfway through the first case and he is still interested. I would recommend for picky eaters.
