by britishatheart84 Excellent Food for Hairball Prone Cats
I have a (very) longhair rescue Balinese mix who suffers from excessive hairballs. While it doesn't eliminate the problem, this food helps tremendously with hairball reduction. I would definitely recommend this food for cats prone to hairball issues. The product seems well produced, and the ingredients are satisfactory (no corn, or wheat products.) The kibbles are a little on the large side, and take some crunching. My cat's coat is shiny, she has clear eyes, and no health issues. I attribute my cat's health in part to this product. This is by far the best hairball diet I've found so far, and will definitely keep feeding it. I also have a short hair cat who likes to sneak and eat this food too (so it must taste good!)

My oldest boy who is 7yrs old developed a problem eating cat food with wheat. This was unfortunate given he has a history cystitis and was on RX cat food for this. His vet is amazing and said this would keep the PH in his bladder higher in acid levels which he needs to keep infection at bay. He has been on this food for 2yrs now and is as happy as a clam. He loves his new food. His bloating has gone completely away and he is cystitis free. I highly recommend this to anyone with similar issues.

I had initially fed my 3 cats Fromm and Orijen, but for whatever reason, it gave the two boy cats diarrhea. After dealing with this for several months, I switched to Ideal Balance.
Now, all 3 cats have normal bowel movements and aren't throwing up as much. I'll continue to feed them Ideal Balance!

I have a 13 year old male cat who had started to throw up quite regularly and often times it was his food he was throwing up. At the vet's recommendation, I tried switching to a different food, including grain free and sensitive stomach, both staying within the Ideal Balance family and trying other brands. He had been on the Hills Ideal Balance chicken and brown rice. No matter what I tried, he would throw it up within and hour of eating, until I tired the Ideal Balance Hairball. He rarely throws up now, and if he does, it's because he has eaten grass. I do want to mention that if you switch your cat to this formula, the required feeding amount is about double the regular chicken and brown rice formula so be sure to check the recommended feeding amounts.

We had been feeding our 8-year-old cat the same food for years. She started acting different and was lethargic and not feeling well a lot of the time. My husband did some research and landed on Hill's Ideal Balance. Our cat LOVES this food and she is like a different cat now. She's frisky, feels well all the time (at least that's what she tells us!) We are very pleased with this food and would highly recommend it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Blask Shiny Coat + No More Throwing Up
We had one cat who was regularly throwing up even after we switched him to a high quality food and removed all grains (another version of Ideal Balance). However, after we switched him to this type of Ideal Balance he has not thrown up in almost two months.
Additionally, our cats have much healthier looking coats since they have started eating the Ideal Balance brand.
The biggest downside to this brand is they do not sell a larger size bag of food.
