I would not buy this toy again. It was flimsy and fell apart way too fast....as in less than an hour.

My 4 cats loved the two KONG straw balls. They went crazy. The two balls lasted 5 minutes at most. These are awesome toys and I believe made of renewable materials, one reason I chose them, but sadly, not able to withstand the enthusiasm with which they were greeted. On the other hand, they brought five minutes of absolute joy.

Other reviewers are absolutely correct--my cats loved these, but they fall apart pretty easily. Actually, in a package of two, one broke while I was getting it out of the package, but the other lasted several months. So somehow the quality varies with each ball. Otherwise, they would be the world's best cat toy.

Each ball lasted less than five minutes. Just as Bob began to get into his new toys they fell apart!

Rated 5 out of 5 by KKlove Great toy - but cat destroyed it in minutes!
It was the perfect toy until my cat tore it apart to get to the inner cheesecloth bag of catnip powder (which I grabbed from her mouth before it showered the carpet). BTW: my cat is a chewer; so no surprise.

I can see that a young, active cat would tear this thing to shreds in minutes. My perspective is that it got an older cat, who hasn't chased a thrown object in YEARS, to actually get up and play. Good enough for me.

by Rich81 Straw cats' favorite
These straw balls were a delight to Simon! First, he liked their scent, lingering to sniff before batting them. When he found that he could pick the balls up and carry them, due to their light weight and unique shape, they became his favorite ball toys!

Rated 4 out of 5 by Slave2Essie Kong balls or Kong pancakes?
The "balls" were placed inside a box containing 4 (or maybe 5) cartons of wet cat food in envelopes. The balls became pancakes, as the box was no doubt repeatedly tossed in shipping. I did the best I could to return them to their intended shape. The cat wasn't all that interested in them, preferring rather the locally purchased Kong balls to the shipped Kong pancakes.
