Merrick Purrfect Bistro Grain-Free Classic Duck Pate Canned Cat Food
Grain Free Wet Food - Great for Cats & Kittens
My Siamese Male Cat turned 19-yrs. on Mar. 13, 2014. 2-yrs. ago he was diagnosed with the beginning stages of Renal Failure. I DID NOT switch to Vet Rx recommendation; rather, I selected Merrick Grain Free Wet Food and mix with Distilled Water and provide Distilled Water for drinking water and my Siamese Cat Romeo is prancing around like a Kitten at 19-yrs. of age.

If your cat likes pate, you should try this brand
Merrick produces a great food. Unfortunately, until these Purrfect Bistro foods were available from Chewy, I had not found a Merrick food that my cats really liked. I love their ingredients and their integrity as a company, so I was thrilled when my cats had a positive reaction to this pate. If you have a cat that likes the texture of a pate, you should try these. They have tried the Chicken, Duck, and Surf and Turf and they all are eaten up. There is a little gravy in the can around the pate. Normally, my cats would lap up the gravy and leave most of the pate, but not with these varieties - they eat it all up.

The only food my baby will eat
I have a 12 year old cat just diagnosed with inflammatory bowel disease. He needed a grain free novel protein canned food. I tried 15 different flavors and companies. This is the only one Dusty will eat regularly. He loves it. I just wish it didn't have chicken in it but without it maybe he would reject it. So far it is the best quality, most palatable food I can find. I would definitely recommend it.

Good, but I miss its forefather...
This appears to be Merrick's rebrand of the B.G. line of grain-free cat food, which was my cat's favorite brand of wet cat food. The formula change to Purrfect Bistro doesn't seem to have affected her, which is good, since store-brand stuff makes her vomit. She does like the duck flavor, too.
I'm just a little disappointed that the "96%" label for guaranteed meat content, which was prominently displayed on Merrick's previous grain-free cans, has now disappeared...meaning there's now less meat (visible difference in the pate texture for sure).
As long as my cat doesn't vomit, then I have no other complaints. It's still a healthier brand than any cheap store brand, and more economical than many other grain-free brands. I may just start supplementing the meat content with chicken from the grocery store.

I have 2 very finicky cats. It's not been easy to make the switch to a healthy canned diet. It's taken some time.
This brand and flavor both of my cats eat. I did need to mix it with a little bit of a cheaper unhealthy brand in the beginning. After awhile using less and less my cats both eay strictly Merricky.
As I said above my cats love this flavor. Chicken Ala King is the second choice.
I highly recommend using Chewy for your pet care needs. The prices are good. Free shipping when you purchase over $49.00. I purchase 2 cases of food plus a few bags of treats to get the free shipping. I'm very pleased that I've found chew.com.

Excellent Quality Cat Food
My cat was near death, this food turned her around. It's healthy & she loves it

Cats loved it, however...
My cats loved the taste but it looks like there is grease floating on top when you open the can. I worry this might upset their digestive system. I went with the chicken pâté, which does not have the grease floating on the top. I know duck might be on the greasy side and chicken is better and more mild for their stomachs.

Bigger cans are better
My two elderly cats loved this brand and flavor when I first got it for them, but they turn their nose up at it now. Part of the reason, I think, is that I switched to smaller cans and the food is not as moist as it is in the bigger cans.
