Customer Reviews

Rated 4.5 out of 5 by 23 reviewers.
Rated 5 out of 5 by Excellent food! I have five cats and usually feed them the Merrick canned cat food but wanted to try some of this dry food as a treat. Got the bag and put some in a couple bowls and three went crazy for this food. The other two sniffed it at first as they had not had dry in so many years but finally started eating it and loved it. I was so happy to see all of them enjoying it and I know this brand is really healthy for them. January 27, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Truly Exceptional I have a very picky older cat. I've been trying to switch her to wet food for years and have tried practically every trick in the book. Eventually, I decided it would be best to pour my efforts into finding a good dry food instead. Much to my surprise, she took to this food immediately. She even liked it better than her old one! She's a bit overweight, too, and I was worried that it might not do much for her size since this was formulated for older, not overweight cats. After just a week on this food, however, I noticed a lot of changes; her fur was softer, her stools were better (before they had been so/so), and she had actually started to shed off a bit of weight. Now, after a month on this food, she has truly blossomed into a very happy, healthy senior lady. It's still not as good as wet food, of course, but as far as dry food goes, this is an outstanding choice. March 19, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Only food my cat does not throw up! And I have tried 100! Inky is 18 and although he has a few grey hairs showing up, he looks like a whipper snapper! Always had a hard time with food though. My other 8 year old loves it too and has never had digestive issues. It's a win~win! January 12, 2016

Rated 4 out of 5 by Must taste pretty good! Everybody is eating this pretty well. The only reason I didn't give it a 5 was that I also ordered Halo Senior chicken and salmon, and they dive and gobble that one, while, with this one, they are more polite, but at least they are all eating it willingly (I don't have to disguise it buried in other food). I'm glad they like it because I think Merrick is a good, wholesome food. December 8, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by senior cats Merrick senior supports the health of my 16 year old cats. they do not have any trouble with digesting this food and have been able to maintain a healthy weight, and a shinning coat . December 15, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Happier CATS!!! I change over 3 months ago from a major Pet Store brand because 2 of 7 cats were having allergy issues with grain. I thought it was normal for cats to barf up their food ( hairball), nope wrong answer. They were allergic reactions to grain. One was losing hair because she licked n chew herself. Now she is the happiest, she has soft Luxurious hair (they all do now), it has grown back, shes running around instead of hiding under my bed. She's got her kitten attitude back. The other cat has stopped losing her dinner. They are all happier and satisfied. 7-1/4 cups twice a day. No overweight kitty's. PLUS!! Litter box at a minimum, they're not full of a bunch of stinky filler and no strong odors YEAH!!! We Luv U MERRICK SR!! April 30, 2014
Rated 1 out of 5 by My cat didn't like it My 14-year-old cat was 100% on a prescription i/d food. The vet suggested to switch him to a senior formula. After chatting with a customer service rep I decided to switch him to this formula. I worked very conservatively, starting with 90% i/d and 10% the senior formula. I am now, after about 7 days, at 75% i/d and 25% senior formula. Since I made the gradual switch, my cat has shown little enthusiasm for the new mix. He never finishes his meal. He leaves about 30% to 40% untouched. I am going to switch him back to 100% of i/d dry food. June 13, 2015
