Rated 5 out of 5 by BrightSky9 healthier than Fancy Feast
For starters, no one anywhere has better customer service than Chewy!
Well, pretty much every cat food is healthier than FF. But my 16-year-old, who had lived on FF nearly all his life, had digestive problems after extensive dental surgery & the vet said "try other foods." This was my 2nd trial & he's been on it ever since. Note ESPECIALLY: this food is 23 cents cheaper per can at Chewy than where I used to shop. And there's that great customer service, too.

My cat doesn't like this flavor. I would need to buy another flavor of MAX.

I purchased this food for a diabetic cat I also have another cat that has some kidney issues I thought that this would be good for them because it is a lower phosphorus and lower carb food. It has a weird smell to it not exactly like chicken. I really can't determine what it is. For the most part they did not like it I had to mash it up with a fork and they still will not eat it. I even mixed some of my old food with it thinking well maybe she'll eat that, no go. I really cannot recommend this food I wish they would make a pate.

Rated 4 out of 5 by JC71 Good nutrition for a chunk-style food
There aren't too many chunk-style canned foods out there, so if you've got a cat who strongly prefers this texture, your options when seeking better nutrition can be frustratingly limited. Nutro's Max Cat line offers several chunk-style foods that are among the best nutritionally I've found for this type. The Chicken Supreme is 36% protein, 55% fat, 9% carb, and relatively low in phosphorus at 173 mg per 100 kcal. No soy or carrageenan, though it does contain some potato starch and wheat gluten (fifth and sixth ingredients). All in all, not bad, and it's moderately cheaper than the premium brands. The ingredients are processed into rather large, flat, floppy squares which some cats might need chopped up, though mine enjoyed the toothsomeness of the larger size. Note that there isn't much sauce here, just a bit of slightly thickened broth; the chunks stay moist for hours even if the cat licks all the sauce off straightaway, so mine didn't mind, but serious gravy-lovers might object.

by PriscillaB Affordable good food
Switched my cats to this food after they get very ill from supermarket quality cat food. I wanted a brand that I felt had better quality and after doing research tried Nutro Max. My cats love that it is not mushy and the chunks and gravy are just right. They are healthier now and happy kitties!

I've thrown away and donated more wet cat food than I can even bear to admit in the long expensive search for a healthy alternative to grocery store junk food.
Nutro Max Supreme Chunks in Sauce just about ends that search. Though I wish that the chunks were a bit smaller and that there was a bit more gravy, my very finicky Turkish Van now CLEANS HIS BOWL (I actually mash it up and add some water).
So with this happy healthy result, I am going to also try Nutro Max Adult Chicken & Lamb Formula which may require no mashing!
