Rated 5 out of 5 by rosaflamenca Best cat food on the market!
I have always fed my pets good quality food, just as I do myself and my family. Quite a while ago, we went grain-free for our cats and dogs and found that they seemed healthier. I had heard about Orijen years ago but it wasn't available locally, and my critters seemed to do well on Evo grain-free foods. When Evo had a problem and pulled their products I searched for an alternative and found that chewy.com sold Orijen. I made the switch for both my cats and dog and I will never go back! An immediate change I noticed was in the softness and glossiness of their fur (which had already been nice, with no problems of any kind) -- and it seems like shedding is less. I feel that the animals seem to have better energy and also are, well, happier, with a cheerful and calm alertness increased that shows me they just plain feel better. I joke with my husband that if something happens and we run out of food, we can eat the Orijen pet food, too, since it is human grade! The only way I can see for it to be improved would be if it kept plaque and tartar off their teeth the way that eating raw bones like animals in the wild does, or if it was less expensive. However, I am more than willing to pay for the quality. The vet remarked how healthy they all are, though I noticed he didn't ask the logical question: "what do you feed them?!" He sells other brands at the clinic, inferior ones in my opinion. There has been no digestive upset, and no problem with fussiness -- all the animals are devoted to this food. A++++

Never thought my fussy boy's would like this but boy do they!! I usually feed just chicken or fish but now have added the red to their diet. I have five Maine coons and they are big boy's. I am happy to say this is a five star food.

Rated 5 out of 5 by LaurenLaz The best especially for high energy breeds
I have three cats: a Bengal, a Savannah and a Maine Coon. The Savannah is a recent addition and I'll get back to that shortly. My Bengal and Coon have always been fed good quality grain free but after my Bengal stopped eating kitten food, I noticed she was constantly hungry and would cry for more all day. And despite eating more than she does now, she never gained any weight as a result (though she was not underweight). It seemed obvious to me that she wasn't getting the nutrition that she needed. Bengals are high energy and her metabolism seems to run faster. So I went in search of a higher protein food that included elements like whole fish and meats (incl. bone/marrow) and I quickly found Orijen and all of the stellar reviews, including those from other Bengal owners. Once I switched her onto the regional dry food, she started eating less and she was clearly satisfied. Originally I kept my other cat on the old grain free food but she started eating the Orijen, and though she really doesn't need a higher protein food and can gain weight if she eats too much (as opposed to my Bengal who is always lean with great muscle tone), she's doing overall really well on it and is happy and healthy. Our new 5 month old Savannah kitten transitioned on her own (given a bowl of her old dry, she chose to abandon it and eat the Orijen) right over to the Regional dry and is devouring it. She's also growing like a weed and I have no doubt that the nutrition she's getting is a big part of it.
If your cat is a high energy breed, has a need for protein packed and well balanced food, or is not being satisfied by their other grain free food, please give this wonderful company and food a try. It may be more expensive, but your cat will almost certainly eat less because he/she will be getting more nutrition in a smaller amount and so it really balances out.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Greengrassyhill MY DIABETIC CAT'S BG NUMBERS IMPROVED!
My 14 year old diabetic cat Simba has been closely monitored by his Veterinarian for over a year. Simba has been receiving insulin injections twice a day and was eating another brand of cat food which had been recommended by his Vet. Lately, Simba's BG numbers had started going up again so my Vet suggested that we might try Simba on the Orijen Regional Red cat food. After a week on the Orijen, Simba looks better, seems to feel better, and his BG numbers are down again! My big, orange tabby boy is acting more like himself than he has for quite a while! Thank you Orijen!

Rated 5 out of 5 by Ilovemycat The BEST dry food! In my opinion!
My cat loves Orijen and especially the Regional Red formula. I know there is a lot of controversy over dry vs. wet food and the importance of a raw food diet and all sides give each other a hard time. Truth be told, my cat does well on Orijen dry food and I stimulate his water intake through the use of a filtered water fountain. I take my cat to a holistic vet that supports how I feed my cat and how I stimulate his water intake. Orijen Regional Red has carefully thought out ingredients. If you research every single ingredient you will quickly learn that every ingredient is meant to aid the cat's health in many ways. I also like that a few of the botanical inclusions aid in digestion. And I like that its a "whole pray" diet as well. Champion Pet Foods, who manufactures Orijen pet food, is the only manufacturer that I trust whole heartedly with making the best quality dry food, in my opinion. I like that Champion Pet Foods has all Canadian ingredients. My cat has never been healthier and I am glad that I can count on Orijen to provide my cat with the best dry food diet possible. My cat loves the flavor of the Regional Red formula and the kibbles are flat and easy for him to chew. He has a healthy weight and does not over eat. He has a lot of energy and I must say that I will continue to be a faithful customer to Champion Pet Foods. It takes my cat 3-4 months to get through a bag of 15lb cat food so even though it seems expensive, its actually not that bad. I could feed my cat for a year with 4 bags of 15lb Orijen cat food. That's pretty cool!

Rated 5 out of 5 by Sk68 Great Product!
I was feeding three different types of foods to my four cats because of various allergies. Thanks to this food I am down to one and they ALL love it. Even my finicky cats eat it. It smells rich and real. The size of the pieces are good so that they actually have something to chew and bite into. I have been searching for a long time for a food without grain and without chicken, I am happy to say I have finally found one that works great for my household. I was a little alarmed at first about the vacuum sealed bag I thought it was frozen from being outside, much to my relief that was not the case and it was delivered fresh. Chewy.com always delivers! Thanks Chewy!

I have feed the chicken Orijen and decided to give the new Red Orijen a try. Well, my cats love this one! They seem to like it better than the chicken. Orijen is an excellent food for dogs and cats. I've always been pleased with all their products.

We just tried your Orijen Regional Red Dry Food for the 1st time. We had been using your Orijen Chicken and our Maine Coon seemed to like it. When we opened the Regional Red Bag she started eating immediately. Seems to like it better than the Chicken...although she did eat the Chicken as well.
