I had been using Innova Grain free and the cats liked it. Both cats have a medical problem. One has yeast on her skin and I found that the grain in feed was not good for her, nor was corn, soy or anything that looked like a grain. THe 2nd cat was very allergic to Soy and almost died from it. I thought it might be the Soy as I know it is not good for many people, so I bought a product that had no Soy and she got better. It never occured to the vet that it might be caused by the Soy.
With Innova ,the 1st cat got mostly better. Instead of me having to spend a 1/2 hour to hour a day washing her skin, I was now doing it around once a week, but just for a few minute.
There was an Innova recall and I didn't know what to feed them. I looked thru all the grain free formulas Chewy carried and spent over an hour with one of the knowledgeable assistents and picked 2 to try.
One was the Pure Vita, the other one also grain free had New Zealand Venison. I mixed them in separate bowls with some of the Innova I had left. The cats only ate the Innova. I was almost out of the Innova and by the end of the 1st week the cats were eating a tiny bit of Innova and would not eat the other foods
They dieted for a few more days and then tried the foods. They would not eat the Venison. but started eating the Pure Vita. Once they started eating it they realized that not only did they like it, but they loved it. WIth the Innova, there was always some left over. Not with this. The 2 Ragdolls just love it.
When they finish it, one of them comes and gives me an argument I untill I follow her and see that the bowls are empty. This never happened before. The first ones coat started looking better right away and her tail which is supposed to be this beautiful long puff like on the 2nd cat , had not been that way in years due to her skin problems. After 2 weeks the amount of fur on her tail has doubled. It is now starting to look like it is supposed to. They had no stomach problems making the change from one food to the next.
I had thought I would go back to the Innova once they started making it again, but not now. I have no waste of food and they love it. They also look better than before. This is a winner.

I tried this food because of the California Natural Chicken & Rice recall. What an unexpected surprise ! My two boys took to the food right off. They experienced no stomach/digestive problems with the change - and they LOVE the kibble as much or more. They are both doing really great on PureVita. They are active, never refuse a meal, and I like what I'm seeing in the litter box. Best of all - neither cat has yet to throw this food up (which can be an issue.) I really appreciate that this food is for all life stages as well. (No need to be concerned with ages in a mult-cat family.) I'm happy - they're happier - and this food will be a permanent replacement.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Tammy74 One of the only fish free dry foods around.
I was looking for a fish free and grain free dry kibble to feed my 4 cats. My search led me to Pure Vita Chicken entrée and I am glad it did. My cats love this food! They hovered around the shipment as I was opening up the box. They love the taste and the food is good for them. If you are wondering why I wanted a fish free food, fish of any type if not recommended for male cats as it can give them urinary problems. We recently lost our beloved Johnny because of this and I will not let it happen again. Thanks Pure Vita! And thank you Chewy.com for providing a great product. I ordered the food on Wednesday and had my package came on Saturday, which is pretty darn good since I live in MO and the food comes from PA. I will tell all of my friends!

by TexAzChili Our 11 cats agree: This food is YUMMMEEE!!
All 11 of our cats LOVE PureVita Grain-Free Chicken Entree Dry Cat Food. In fact, they go nuts for it. You'd think it was catnip!
All 11 cats (ages 16 years to just under one year old) have beautiful, glossy fur and are much healthier since we ditched the "big name" stuff, which is loaded with fillers and grains, especially corn, which is a no-no for cats. Just compare ingredients; you'll see. In fact, one of our cats has diabetes, which now is under control without medication thanks to these foods. As a mixer, we also use Halo Spot's Stew chicken and Merrick Purrfect Bistro Grain Free Healthy Senior.
Why 11 cats? It all started with two daughters ... :)

Rated 5 out of 5 by Vinnie1234 The absolute best grain-free for cats.
This is the best dry grain-free on the market. I have noticed that all 6 of my cats' fur and general health have improved since changing to Pure Vita. Just absolutely wonderful. Other so-called healthy products by well known companies didn't compare. Worth any extra cost AND all 6 of my 6 go carzy over it!

My cats have been eating this for over 2 years. I have seen a change in their coats, shiny and soft. They seem to have better digestion and always look forward to feeding time.

Rated 5 out of 5 by MogMom Successfully transitioned sensitive-stomached cat!
We found ourselves needing to transition to a new dry food due to California Natural Grain-Free Chicken being unavailable post-recall. We have 2 cats: a little girl who can't handle corn, wheat, too much rice or too much flax. Our boy cat could eat a sneaker and be just fine, but he still has taste preferences. They eat about 60/40 wet food/dry food. We were running out of Cal Natural and new production wasn't hitting the shelves in time. Nothing to do but switch food, and do it more quickly than we liked. Pure Vita Grain Free Chicken was the only dry they both loved and didn't make our little girl explode (sorry, but those of you with sensitive tummy cats know the unfortunate truth of that statement.) She had about two days of looser-than-normal stool and now, about a week in, she is perfect. This is unprecedented for her. Pure Vita is not as limited ingredient as the Cal Nat, but the main ingredients are close enough, and the list isn't as long as some other higher-quality dries that we'd have loved to feed, but caused digestive upset. Long story short, this food worked great in a forced transition situation.
