... "Kat" won't eat anything else Adopted a cat from a shelter. She came complete with giardia. Diarrhea, etc. The vet put her on 7(?) days of pills and said use the EN diet. When that cleared, found she had severe gingivitis requiring removal of all but canines. Vet said cats can still eat. 2 years later, she's healthy weight eating only EN dried food. Doesn't want anything else wet or dry. Problem: no matter how steep the edges of the bowl, she leaves too much on the side when she pushes her face in it (no front teeth). It becomes stale and she won't eat it. So she wastes a lot. But now chewy.com sells 10# for about the price of my vet's 6#... Happy September 3, 2013
This food really helps my cat's stomach issues. My cat seems to appreciate the change in food. She doesn't have constant diarrhea like she used to & is feeling much better. She also seems to like the taste of this. February 27, 2014
The dry formula worked just like the vet said it would Our Cat Jake had been eating whatever we served him much too fast and was throwing up some of his food and treats two to four times a month. After his fourth year he wasn't gaining weight, he was losing it. He also started meowing a lot in a whiny kind of way--as if to say, "I want you guys to do something to help me"--but we didn't know what was bothering him, so we took him to our veterinarian. After a thorough examination, the vet recommended Jake be put on a new diet and sold us a bag of Purina Veterinary Diets EN Gastroenteric Formula Dry Cat Food. That is certainly a very long product name to say in one breath, but it's been working beautifully! Not only has Jake stopped complaining all the time, he's been more content and has rejected those cat treats he used to scoff down furiously in his search for good nutrition. The best news? Jake has stopped throwing up. Recently we ordered two more bags from Chewy.com, because of the savings. Three days ago Jake had finished devouring every nugget from the bag we got from the vet, so we opened the first 6-lb. bag from Chewy's. We noted the date when we began feeding him from this fresh supply and will track how long it takes him to finish both 6-lb. bags. Then we'll know how often to order this formula from Chewy.com again, so they can send it on a regular schedule and we can realize even more savings. As far as we're concerned? Happiness is having a happy Jake in our home. December 17, 2013
Cured My Cat's Tummy Problems One of my kitties was diagnosed with gastritis. My vet recommended Purina Vetrinary Diets EN Gastroenteric Formula Dry Cat Food for his condition. He is 90 percent better! And, his sister likes the food too. I asked my vet if it was ok to give the food to his sister, too....and the vet said yes, it would be fine! I am delighted to have found a resolution to his painful tummy problems!!!!! August 3, 2014
Good Results I use Forti Flora with the EN and it seems to be working. My cat has suspected IBD and had constant runny stools for a long time. We tried many different types food and tried EN about 6 months ago but he wouldn't eat it. Now he does with a little Forti Flora. Not sure why he eats it now. His stools have been normal for about a month now!! So I will keep feeding him the EN and also have another cat on it who was just diagnosed with intestinal cancer. He had runny stools, and was given metronidazole and feeding him the EN I think has helped to get back to normal. July 2, 2014
