Product Description

Whether you love cats for their beauty, their elegance or their agility, a cat is above all a companion. That’s why lifestyle, sensitivities and age are all crucial considerations when it comes to choosing the right nutrition. Royal Canin Adult 27 is designed to meet the specific nutritional needs of your indoor adult cat. Cats living exclusively indoors have a more sedentary lifestyle, lower energy requirements and a higher risk of obesity. The lifestyle of the indoor cat, sheltered from temperature variations and changes in day length, disrupts the natural seasonal cycle of fur growth. This means indoor cats shed almost continuously, and paired with long grooming sessions, have an increased risk of hairball formation.

Key Benefits

  • For indoor cats from 1 to 10 years old
  • Improved digestibility for odor reduction
  • Promotes dental health with specific nutrients that fight tartar
  • Fiber to encourage intestinal transit and to facilitate the elimination of the hair your cat swallows every day

Customer Ratings & Reviews

Rated 5 out of 5 by Won the taste test, paws down! When I'm underchallenged I sometimes administer scientific taste tests to my two cats. Using identical paper bowls, I measure out equal amounts of 3 dry foods. Royal Canin is their favorite, by far. Sometimes I try to mix two foods together. My cat, Geraldine, spits out the inferior food. I think I need a job, or a hobby. June 3, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by A Real Hit! My cats absolutely love Royal Canin, and I feed over a dozen cats between my indoor kitties and my strays. I've had twenty plus years of experience as a cat owner (okay, servant or actually, slave!) and it's highly unusual to find a single food that all my felines like, but I can honestly say that each and every cat is enthusiastic about eating this food. I'd go so far as to say that they like it almost as much as canned food, which I no longer give them. In addition, I feel good about using this product due to its high quality. My "kids" all have a lot of energy and their coats are super soft and shiny. When I started feeding my stray, Henry, this food, his coat improved greatly. Before he found me, it did not look like any human had cared for him previously, as he looked quite scraggly, but now when I pet him, his coat feels 100% better, and I can tell by his behavior that he also feels better. If you have cats that like to snub what you put in their bowl, do yourself a favor and try this food! August 3, 2012
Rated 5 out of 5 by ALL FIVE CATS LOVE IT!!!! Royal Canin is by far the best food I have ever purchased. The claims are cats no longer hang at their bowls all day....they have more more hairballs....and allot less in the litter box.....They could smell the food when it arrived....amazing....I'm so happy I changed to Royal Canin..... Rated 3 out of 5 by Great food. Not so great price. This is the best cat food on the market... It's very high quality and my cat loves it. However, the price is awful. I paid $35 a bag here on for over a year and now they have raised it $10 more... That's what I can pay at the chain pet stores locally and what I will be doing from now on, I suppose. I'm sad to say I will no longer be a chewy customer. December 21, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Our adult cat's love it. Our Maine Coon cat and long haired calico both love this food. Was hard to get them off the wet food which they adore but this has helped to ease the hunger pains as they wait for that one can a day! February 10, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by Basic, but blend-able. I'm not sure this is great food, but it's pretty good. The triangular shape is easy for cats to eat. If you soak a kibble, it expands and looks like sawdust, so I imagine it's got more grain (mystery fiber?!) than it should. Maybe that's what helps prevent hairballs - a problem we don't have. I mix Adult 27 with 50% of a grain-free variety as well as offering some daily canned food so I am pretty sure the cats are getting all of the nutrients they need. Whenever I go to a cat show, Royal Canin is a ubiquitous corporate presence, marketing heavily. This makes me suspicious, but I am still buying their product because the cats like it. May 3, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Excellent Food Great food and my cats love it! Highly recommend this food! July 11, 2012
Rated 5 out of 5 by Tried many dry premium catfoods; stopped with this one! I have indoor-only cats and wanted them to have premium cat food. I researched, tried many brands, and found a winner with Royal Canin. My "boys" love it! My vet loves it, too! I have ended up mixing three of the Royal Canin dry catfoods: this one (Indoor Adult 27), Indoor Beauty, and Maine Coon (yes, I have one of those and the other cat, a short-hair, likes these larger nuggets, too). I've noticed my cats generally prefer their Royal Canin dry catfood over any wet catfood (premium, of course!). Needless to say, I'll stay with Royal Canin "forever." March 16, 2014
