Product Description

Lower urinary tract disease (LUTD) refers to a group of disorders that commonly leads to irritation of the urinary tract and corresponding undesirable clinical signs. What causes Lower Urinary Tract Disease? In cats, bacterial infections are far less common. Urinary crystals and stones are often linked to this disease. The most common cause of Lower Urinary Tract Disease in cats is idiopathic cystitis. This diet promotes a urinary environment unfavorable to the development of both struvite and calcium oxalate crystals.

Key Benefits

  • Recommended for cats at risk of developing lower urinary tract disease
  • Dissolution of pure struvite uroliths
  • Help prevent struvite, calcium oxalate and phosphate uroliths
  • Provides nutrition that aids in the management of pure struvite uroliths
  • Relative Super Saturation (RSS) methodology predicts the crystallization potential of urine; RSS is used to develop diets that lower the concentration of ions contributing to struvite and calcium oxalate urolithiasis
  • Increasing the urine volume simultaneously reduces the saturation of urine with calcium oxalate and struvite crystals
  • Reduced level of magnesium, a natural component of struvite stones

Rated 5 out of 5 by Awesome company! Okay, first of all I rarely write reviews of products in spite of the fact that I usually read reviews before I purchase a product. But this time, I want to commend Chewy on their excellent service. I recently had to switch my two Maine Coon cats from Royal Canin Maine Coon formula to this Royal Canin Veterinary Diet Urinary SO. They had no trouble making the transition to the new food and they love it. That's great, but also great is that Chewy totally refunded the cost of my just-opened MC formula, as well as 2 unopened cases of canned food. And to top it off, they had me donate the food to our local animal shelter. There is no substitute for great, caring customer support! May 16, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Smokey loves this! Great dry cat food for any cat with urinary issues. Smokey sits by her bowl like a sentry until I give her these dry kibbles. Great product and easy on the tummy. May 26, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Royal Canin Veterinary Diet Urinary SO Cat Food Both our cats love this product and has solved all their urinary problems. Best of all you can have it delivered right to your door which for us is great and saves driving 35 miles round trip to pick it up. May 19, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Control Feline UTI's My cat had a very bad UTI and was passing blood clots. The Vet prescribed standard meds to clear up the infection, and another to keep her calm, but my cat hated the calming pills so we tried a liquid form which she would not take either. The vet sent me home with this food to help with the condition. Both my cats eat the same food so I immediately changed them over. My loving cat showed immediate improvement and has not need any follow up. I am so grateful to have Chewy as this food is very expensive through the vet. May 14, 2016

Rated 5 out of 5 by Extremely picky cat loves SO I've tried other urinary foods for my 10 year old male but SO is the only one he will eat. He's so picky he won't eat wet food so I'm very thankful to have found SO as it has helped his urinary issues immensely. May 16, 2016
Rated 4 out of 5 by My cat eats it! I was so afraid that I would never find a Urinary diet food that my outside barn cat would eat. Every time I put out a vet's urinary diet food he would go to another cat's dish and eat. He has been to the vet 3 times with crystals. He actually stays at his bowl with Royal Canin and eats. Rated 2 out of 5 by A must for my babies condition This is a prescription food that my kitty has to eat to avoid having bladder stones. I have been buying the smaller bag at the Vet's office @ a much higher price. I was very happy to find it at Chewy in a larger size for a much better price. They also have the best customer service of any company I have ever dealt with. May 12, 2016
