Product Description

Lower urinary tract disease (LUTD) refers to a group of disorders that commonly leads to irritation of the urinary tract and corresponding undesirable clinical signs. What causes Lower Urinary Tract Disease? In cats, bacterial infections are far less common. Urinary crystals and stones are often linked to this disease. The most common cause of Lower Urinary Tract Disease in cats is idiopathic cystitis. This diet promotes a urinary environment unfavorable to the development of both struvite and calcium oxalate crystals.

Key Benefits

  • Recommended for cats at risk of developing lower urinary tract disease and who are predisposed to weight gain
  • Moderate calorie content, helps maintain ideal weight
  • Dissolution of pure struvite uroliths
  • Help prevent struvite, calcium oxalate and phosphate uroliths
  • Provides nutrition that aids in the management of pure struvite uroliths
  • Relative Super Saturation (RSS) methodology predicts the crystallization potential of urine; RSS is used to develop diets that lower the concentration of ions contributing to struvite and calcium oxalate urolithiasis
  • Increasing the urine volume simultaneously reduces the saturation of urine with calcium oxalate and struvite crystals
  • Reduced level of magnesium, a natural component of struvite stones

Rated 5 out of 5 by Great service I have been getting this food from the vet for years. I heard of this company from a rescue group. They are so much cheaper and it is delivered right to my front door. No heavy lifting to my car anymore. This is the best food to keep your furbaby from getting blocked up! I serve it to all three of mine. I have 2 males and a female. It is mostly for the males. It definitely won't hurt her any though. May 3, 2016

Rated 5 out of 5 by All 4 cats LOVE this food!! This food was prescribed for our 12 year old cat a few years ago for a incontinent bladder. The problem is we have 4 cats and I had no idea how I was going to keep the other 3 out of it because they have always grazed when eating. Luckily the vet's said since they were all over 10 all 4 could have it and they all love it!! As a matter of fact eat it like its a treat!!Since they have been eating this food their coats look great and we've had no more bladder issues. (PS-one of our cats is 20 yrs old) And everyone I have dealt with at Chewy has been very friendly and their customer service exceeds most!!! I highly recommend this company and this food! We save money with the automatic ship & don't have to pick up at the vets office!! 2 Bonuses!! Yeah Chewy!! April 5, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by A healthy solution when I have to leave dry KB was prescribed the wet choice of this food. I wanted a solution for when I had to leave food on the floor for a longer time, and this fit the bill. Although I cannot say he loves it as well as the SO wet, it's gone at the end of a long day and he seems happy. May 3, 2016
Rated 3 out of 5 by not crazy about the corn content, but.... my male cat has urinary problems & the vet says this will help May 5, 2016
