Solvit HoundAbout II Aluminum Pet Bicycle Trailer, Medium

All new design for 2013! – now made from lightweight, rust-proof aluminum, with a re-designed cabin that provides better visibility and “headroom” for our four-legged friends! Solvit's HoundAbout II Bicycle Trailer is a great way to maintain an active lifestyle with your pet.

If you want to get in a bike ride, but your pet isn’t up to it, you can still take them along. Perfect for cycling to the dog park - you get a workout there and back, and your pet stays safe while you’re on the road. For those who are nervous about leashing their pet to a bicycle - the HoundAbout II solves that problem and your pet will love the ride. Solvit's design features an extra-wide wheelbase and a lower center-of-gravity to provide outstanding ride stability and easier access for pets getting in and out of the cabin.

Special pockets hold plenty of gear including cellphones, keys, leash, water bottle, treats, and more. The front door on the trailer includes a zippered, mesh screen layer plus a zippered, clear vinyl layer to block wind and weather. Use them in different configurations depending on riding conditions. The over-sized sunroof provides ample airflow and room for pets to peek their heads out and look about. A removable, washable cushion keeps pets comfortable on long rides. Assembles quickly and folds down for easy storage or transport.

Exactly what I was looking for! My dogs and I are loving the trailer. It was easy to put together-(my son helped a little)-and hooking it up to my bike takes only a couple minutes. The dogs-(one is 30 lbs, one is 80 lbs) fit nicely inside and we can roll to the dog park without a problem. Love the pockets to hold the extra necesseties. Thanks for a great product! Hubby loves this for our dog as much as I do! My Husband is so thrilled that we can easily bring our dog with us on the cooler days {heat is dangerous for dogs}on extended bike rides through a local park system which several miles long. It takes us a few hours to navigate from beginning to end and back again . We stop & give our dog water & bathroom breaks often along the way to make sure he is comfortable. All of us, especially our dog is happy with this trailer! This trailer works much better than a dog bike basket we previously had on our handle bars. I feel much safer pulling the trailer. The trailer is very well made, tires are like bike tires, & the pockets are convenient for treats, bags, water, bowl, wipes etc. We bought the medium sized red trailer, our dog is only 6 lbs. and I can't even tell I'm pulling anything at all when he is in the trailer. The trailer works great on paved paths in the park. I haven't tried it on dirt because I think it would be too bumpy of a ride for our pampered pooch. Our dog likes to be in carriers so he took to this right away. You'll have to air out the carrier when you get it for a few days, it smells strongly of being 'new'. July 17, 2014
Great Bike Carrier This bike carrier is nicely made. Very stable and easy to set up and attach to bike. We have the medium (red) carrier for our Brittany who is currently 15 lbs and growing. He should reach 30-35 lbs and this carrier will be large enough and stable enough to carry him thru his adult hood. We have used this twice and it handles nicely up and down hills. It has large and sturdy wheels that roll well behind the bike. There is a base pad (removable and well padded) on the bottom and a strap to tie him in to keep him less mobile. We haven't had to use the tie in strap as he faces forward to see where we are going. There are tons of windows to allow him full range of sight and a zip off top which we have yet to open up. The back entry makes it a breeze to get him in .. Lots of pockets to carry water bottle, leash, treats and anything we want to take along.. This was a good investment as we bike a lot and will be able to bring our puppy along! February 27, 2014
We'll thought out design We bought the medium trailer and an extra trailer leash for our two Jack Russell Terriers. We finally got a break in the weather and took it for a test spin. The dogs LOVED riding in it. There is plenty of ventilation, the front has a plexiglass panel that can be zipped closed to protect them from wet or windy conditions. The top may be left open so the dogs can look out, or zipped closed if they get chilly. The sides have screened panels and the back has a screened panel that unzips to allow easy entry & exit for the dogs. The trailer follows the bike nicely and tows well. The trailer also has pockets sewn into the outside of the canvas for a water bottle, leashes and treats. The cushion that comes with the trailer is comfortable and looks like it would hold up well. We can't wait for spring so we can all hit the bike trails together! February 23, 2014
