Rated 2 out of 5 by AcuSteph cats prefer Stella and Chewys dog food to the cat food
a friend gave me a left over bag of the salmon/cod that her cats didn't like, I have only 1 cat that will eat it so tried the Herring/Tuna and neither of my guys like it, they both prefer the dog chicken and and Surf/Turf. Maybe the cat food is too fishy? or rich for their palates.

My cats love fish, no surprise, however, they have snubbed their nose at this flavor after the first bag. They love all the other flavors and are on a regular shipment schedule with them. I have to agree with them because I'm not too keen on the smell of the dry version of this flavor either.

My cat has a tendency to be a kind of picky eater and kind of particular about his food, but he absolutely loves this food! He likes all of the flavors so far. I was feeding him the Primal frozen food, and they discontinued their chubs line; so, I had to get another food. Our amazing family friends that own Waggin' Tails Pet Supply Store in Branchville, NJ, recommended this brand. I was worried about switching him because he loves the Primal so much.
He grabbed the bag of this off of the counter and ran through the house with the whole bag in his mouth and has ripped it open by the time I got it from him. Definitely likes it!
The raw diet or just feeding your cat wet food, especially with males, is a great idea because some cats get crystals in their urine from eating just the dry food, and the crystals can dehydrate and actually kill them. It doesn't happen to all cats, but males have a tendency to have this problem. Stella and Chewy food is a great place to start if you want to switch your cat to an all wet food diet. All you have to do is add water, and it's easier to travel with because it's so light and compact. It's also a very high quality food. The website dogfoodadvisory.com is a good place to get breakdowns on ingredients and nutrition levels in food. And another plus is that you can feed your cat most of the dog food varieties of Stella and Chewy, if you just add vitamins to it; so, you can look through the dog flavors, as well. Just don't get the duck flavor for dogs; that's the only one that you can't give to cats too.
Literally the only downside to the food is that it has quite a strong odor. Just store it separately from where you would keep any of your food or put it in an additional container or ziploc bag.

I started using this food because it was recommended by the veterinarian. I have been trying to find some more natural cat food, and so far this is the very best choice.

I have 7 cats, and want only the best for them. I have been searching for 2 years now for the perfect diet for them, and have finally found it! My sweetest, gentlest cat, who has never growled, will growl if one of the other cats even looks at him while he's eating his duck duck goose! My Siamese opened the shipping box, dug out the bag of Herring/Tuna, and chewed a hole through the bag to get at it! All of my cats prefer it dry as to wet, so I give them canned cat food for breakfast and before bed, and the freeze dried right out of the bag for lunch. Can't wait to try other flavors for them! Getting some rabbit next time too. My Himalayan is my only cat that won't eat it, but bet I'll find a flavor he likes too! I am trusting this company with the health of my kitties, and I have a hard time trusting anyone with them! As long as they keep up their standard of quality, and don't raise their prices, I will continue to purchase all my cat food from them!

I like the flexibility of using this product dry or wet. As cats really shouldn't be eating kibble and a raw diet takes a good deal of time and commitment, this product makes it much easier. I do suggest you research the nutritional values (calories) and use the variety best for your cat(s).

I am persuaded that raw food is healthy for cats. At present I am mixing it with their usual canned food brand, and one cat is eating it well while the second cat lis taking longer to accept it.Brend
