This food is pretty cool! No messy cans to deal with on this one. I put about 6-10 "marshmallows" in a bowl, add some hot water, and let it soak up for about a minute. Squish it with a fork and feed it to my picky 23 year old kitty. So far she really likes it.
I bought the 12 oz bag to save on waste.

Rated 5 out of 5 by bradtree Better for your cats; will make them healthy.
I love this cat food! Low carb; high protein. I switched my cats to a full low carb; no grain diet several weeks ago. It was more expensive so I was concerned. But what happened is that they eat less now and my older cat who was rather chubby and getting wheezy is now lean and does not wheeze! Also, her hair felt somewhat greasy and now she is sleek and soft; she smells better too! It's obvious that this diet is what she and my other cats need. If anyone thinks it's too expensive, it is not! You will save because they will eat less and they will be so much healthier there won't be vet bills.
Another thing; I break up the freeze dried balls and mix with various canned food (low carb too) and they love the variety. I add hot water for a warm meal; they deserve it!

by Susandk My cat loves this
My cat KC can be very fickle about what he eats. After all he is a cat! He absolutely loves this food and follows me into the kitchen every morning crying to be fed. If I go back upstairs without feeding him he waits patiently at the top of the stairs and follows me downstairs again where we go through the same routine. He learned to open the kitchen cabinets to get it (and shared it with my collie, Maddie). They finished a full bag, which now resides in the microwave which he has not managed to open yet.

Rated 5 out of 5 by benny Great for your cats teeth and they love the food! Clean, Clean bowls!!!
My two Cornish Rex cats (Males, 3 years old) and one male abused rescue (about 15 years old) The two young boys had alot of tarter on their teeth and gums were red by the teeth. The older cat had extremely bad teeth. My recommendation forStella and Chewey is Stellar!!!!! I cannot believe their teeth, how white and tarter free. All three of them lick the bowls clean ( and I mean clean). Its only been three weeks. Such an improvement!! chicken, chicken and Salmon & chicken they love.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Foodboy expensive but loved!
The cats love this food. It's worth its weight in gold--literally, so if you love your cats dig deep or get another part time job so you can buy the stuff. Cheapest here, though.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Lola0529 Great Stuff!
My cat loves this stuff so much that my efforts to do a "phased introduction" were fruitless. On the first day, I mixed half her normal wet food with the Stella's and watched as she carefully fished out each piece of the Stella's S&C with her little paw, bringing it to the side of the bowl closest to her to eat, meanwhile ignoring the rest of the food in her bowl. This despite the fact that she usually licked her bowl clean of the old wet food. At any rate, Day Two, I just gave her the Stella and Chewy's straight, and she has been loving it since. I alternate and/or mix the Salmon & Chicken with the Duck, Duck, Goose and she loves them both.
For those new to Stella & Chewy's and want to save a bit of money, buying the 12 oz bags makes it a bit cheaper, though you lose the convenience of a pre-portioned meal. That said, a .8 oz serving (equivalent to 3 oz of regular wet food) is approximately 1/2 cup or 35 pellets. My cat is rather small and can't eat more than 1.5 oz of wet food at a given meal, so I give her half of that, or 1/4 cup or 17 pellets. I called the company to find out the equivalent cup measurement, and used a kitchen scale to check the approximate number of pellets .8/.4 oz. Hope this helps!

Rated 5 out of 5 by Tulsi17 OK, what's the trick?
Even my finicky cat ate this! When my oldest cat (18 yrs next month!) didn't seem interested in her wet food recently, I was concerned. Granted, there have been many recent changes...I just lost her brother a month ago (RIP, Fred), and I adopted two rescues within the past three weeks. But she always loved wet food and would pester me at breakfast and dinner times! Still did but then wouldn't eat it...Well, I had bought some small (trial?) bags of S&C recently, and I wondered if it might help. I sprinkled some Stella & Chewys Yummy Lickin Salmon & Chicken dinner on top of the other high quality wet food, and suddenly she was ravenous! ha! Seriously, she ate 90% of the food she had turned her nose up moments before. (relief!!!) So far, my cats like this flavor and the Chick Chick Chicken dinner. THANK YOU, S&C and Chewy.com!!! I'm just sorry Fred never got to try this! I'm sure he would have loved it, too!

Rated 5 out of 5 by Meekabookitten Very Picky Kitten...love this food!
My kitten that is almost four month old has almost emptied Petco trying every different food they sell. He is VERY picky and refuses to eat most wet foods. The benefit of a raw or wet food diet is so great that I refuse to let him eat only kibble (although that would make him a very happy camper). After trying many, many different types of food we have found that he will only eat Stella and Chewy's (rehydrated) freeze-dried raw food and some flavors of Instinct raw frozen and canned foods. Stella and Chewy's is the easiest of the three to feed. I take it out of the bag, add some warm water, wait a couple of minutes, and presto I have a well fed, happy kitten. His vet was impressed with his health and everyone who picks him up comments on how soft his fur is. His litter box smells a lot better after putting him on this food as well!
