Vetri-Science Renal Essentials Feline Bite-Sized Cat Chews, 120-count

Renal Essentials Feline Bite-Sized Chews help maintain proper kidney function by supporting renal circulation, normal fluid retention, detoxification, stress management, homocysteine balance, and kidney and liver function. The inclusion of astragalus root powder supports kidney circulation and immune function, while the Chinese herb rehmannia supports kidney and liver function, and is known as the kidney’s own food.

Other ingredients like vitamins B1 and B2 support metabolic activity, including the metabolism of proteins, fats, and carbohydrates, supporting proper energy production. Folic acid, DMG, B12 and B6 help support methylation and sulfuration pathways, while minerals like potassium are important for water balance. B vitamins are water soluble and not properly recycled during times of kidney stress or dysfunction; therefore, supplementation may be required.

Key Benefits:

  • Helps maintain proper kidney function
  • Supports renal circulation, normal fluid retention, and detoxification
  • B Vitamins support metabolic activity

Cat gobbles them down My oldest cat has the early stages of Kidney Disease. I'd tried the "chewable" dry vitamin pills available for Renal support, but my cat didn't like them at all, and refused food I'd crush them into. But he loves these chewy treats. They're quite large so I can break his daily dose into half-pieces and he thinks he's getting 8 treats. Makes for a nice reward that's also good for him. I can't make any claims yet on what it will do for his health, but as it stands, there's been no ill effects and I'm hopeful. With 120 chews in a bag, it will last him a month, so that's pretty reasonable. May 23, 2013
My Cat Loves These I got these for my 16 year old cat who is in the early stages of renal failure. I tried a liquid kidney support (purchased elsewhere) and my cat hated the taste of it no matter what I mixed it in. He loves these chews and I love that I have one less struggle with him! My cat won't touch these My vet recommended Renal Essentials. I've tried it in tablet form with my cat. Since grinding the tablets into a powder to mix with food was a real pain, I hoped my cat would go for these Renal Essentials Chews. Nothing doing. She absolutely will not eat these. I guess we'll be going back to the tablets. May 14, 2014
Good Product, although my picky cats got tired of the taste My vet recommended these for both my 20 year old female cat with age-related kidney disease and my recently diagnosed 3 year old male cat who has kidney issues and was suspected of having lymphoma. Both cats enjoyed the chews as treats for several weeks, then stopped eating them. I can only guess that the 3 year old just got tired of the taste. The 20 year old has suddenly developed an aversion to anything that might stick to her teeth. Will stop them for a week or so, then reintroduce them. I would recommend them as a supplement if suggested by your vet. May 28, 2013
Great Treat My cat was just diagnosed with renal failure. With dealing with a special diet now, etc...it sure was nice to find a treat that he loves! October 15, 2014
Palatable For my cat with early stage renal failure and a very finicky appetite, these give me a sense of well being. I feel I can give him nutrition that he will actually eat willingly. August 1, 2014
Cat eats them if sneaked into his food I have 2 senior cats. The one who really needs the supplement won't eat the chewies directly, but I break them up and mix them into his wet food and he eats it. In the 3 weeks he's been taking it, his BUN number declined, so numbers over time will tell for sure. My other cat, who doesn't really need it, loves the chewies and gobbles them up if given the chance. July 29, 2014
Kitty loves them In addition to providing support for her kidney function, I use these to hide her blood pressure tablet pieces and she gobbles them right up. We're approaching two years on subcutaneous fluid therapy and she's doing great at 17 years old, although now having some thyroid issues. We like the chews much better than the tablets I had to grind up and mix in her food. May 5, 2014
