Cat food is almost impossible to find without fish in it. My cat used to get UTIs. I read somewhere that it could come from fish. Since starting her on a fish free wet food she hasn't had any issues. My vet recommended Hills(garbage) and when UTI food didn't work they recommended a surgery! It would have been a huge waste of money and a painful recovery for kitty. Thanks Wellness, for a quality fish free, pain free alternative!

One of my cats has a fish allergy. It's important to have fish free formulas available. And all three of my cats love the taste.

I read on a holistic vet website not too long ago that cats did not evolve to be regular fish and seafood eaters. Apparently, this is proven by a large upswing of vet visits for thyroid problems in recent years. I have 3 in a variety of sizes and ages, and the prospect of 3 cats on thyroid meds for life is not appealing to them or to me! So, I switched out one of their seafood meals in rotation for a red meat-based food.
I already feed them a Wellness grain-free product which they love: Beef and Salmon (oops). When I found the Wellness Core grain-free variety with Beef, Venison and Lamb, we had to try it. It is a rich, very dense, pate-style food but still surprisingly creamy. All 3 cats took to it immediately, also to my surprise. They did not have to be nudged or begged, not even the first time!
Besides being grain-free, additive-free, preservative-free and by-product free, it has 4 sources of protein from meats: beef, venison, lamb, and chicken meal. Organ meats are included in the form of beef and lamb liver for still more protein. There are cranberries, herbs, and a list of chelated (for better absorption) minerals and vitamins, as well as other botanicals. Taurine (0.1%), Folic Acid and Flaxseed for Omega 3 and 6 are also part of the brew.
Nutritional analysis is one of the best that I have seen for a cat food: Crude protein (min.): 12%; Crude Fat (min.): 7.5%; Moisture: 78%. Calories:210 per can. The protein content is one of the highest that I have seen, while the fat content is the lowest.
So, my cats' diet has taken a huge leap for the better, many thanks to Wellness! No small thanks to Chewy for providing a gratifying discount on the price to make this and other Wellness products more affordable!

 by Deuce15 Cats Devour it!!
Just got this food the other day as the kittens make their transition from the Wellness Core Kitten food to the adult food as they are both 1 year old in 2 weeks. They absolutely LOVE it! Each time I have given it to them so far they tear into it and eat every last bit in the dish. The consistency is a lot thicker compared to the Wellness Core Kitten food, but I mix in a little warm water anyway with their food so its not an issue.

I have two kittens: a Bengal/Chausie mix and a Russian Blue. I have experimented with other wet foods which they have eaten but never actually seemed to enjoy as much as Wellness Core Venison, Beef and Lamb. They have eaten eaten other Wellness and Core products previously and I do switch up their proteins frequently and mix in other flavors just to change it up and prevent allergies developing. Also, when I ordered from Chewy,I received my order promptly and none of the cans were dented! I won't order from anywhere else again! Also, it was quite a bit cheaper than ordering from competitors.

Rated 5 out of 5Â by Jundy Good choice for cats with urinary issues.
We made the switch after our female cat developed urinary crystals. After 6 weeks with this food her urine checked out just fine. I had read about this food in a detailed review. Another bonus you do not need to call the vet for a new prescription and this choice is a bit less expensive. Very healthy option!

Rated 5 out of 5Â by AprilFoole99 Great poultry-free food
One of my cats is allergic to poultry, so I had to switch from the other Indoor Health formula from Wellness. I am very pleased that all three of my cats enjoy this healthy food. I had no problems at all with the transition to this flavor.

See review for the WC Salmon, too - our three young cats love the beef-venison-lamb combination, as well as the salmon combination of Wellness Core. Alternating flavors twice a day seems to keep them interested. It is a good product and I would recommend it. Chewy.com's prices can't be beat.
