Product Description

Weruva is a line of luxurious natural and grain-free pet foods. Made in a human food facility, they gathered the best ingredients from around the world to make the best food for your best friend - for life. The factory operates at international human food processing standards, including that of the super-strict British Retail Consortium (BRC), and the pet food processing must pass BRC scrutiny.

Big Redeye is the unique ingredient here, sitting atop sardine cutlets and whole meat tuna. Fit for their carnivorous and nocturnal lifestyles, as you could guess, “bigeye” refers to this fish’s unusually large eyes. Native to the tropical and subtropical regions of Pacific and Indian Oceans, Bigeyes tend to live near rock outcroppings or reefs.

Customer Ratings & Reviews

Rated 4.6 out of 5 by 21 reviewers.
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great texture ,large pieces of fish !!!! Have 4 Tonks and they all love it!!!No fillers or grains in this product. August 24, 2012
Rated 5 out of 5 by Excellent cat food This is the only cat food, I have bought,(and I have purchased many) which my 18 year old cat can keep down. I only can give her small amounts at a time, which equals several feedings/day, but she likes the flavor and is doing well on the regiment. I hope this review helps other's with older, stomach sensitive cats. Chewy's prices are the best I have found. Thanks. September 30, 2015
Rated 4 out of 5 by Easy for My Cats to Eat My cats really like this food, one more than the other, but both eat it without complaints. I'm torn because of the carrageenan in it, which I believe is a derivative of kelp but potentially harmful to the intestines. At the same time it helps provide a gelatinous texture which helps my kitties scarf it up easily, (unlike some of the other weruva recipes which use "pulled" strands of meat like "Paw Lick'n Chick'n"). My one cat has a difficult time licking up strands of meat. He does better with little chunks. The main Weruva fish recipes tend to be gelatinous (Truluxe is watery). I prefer Polynesian BBQ over other fish recipes, because it seems to be the only recipe that doesn't have tuna (or other large Australian fish) that are known to be high in mercury content as the first ingredient. Sardines are the first ingredient, followed by tuna. In case, you are curious, you can visit Weruva's main website and see photos of all of the recipes to get an idea if it's something your cat will like. In short, this fish recipe is my favorite out of the entire Weruva line, based on texture, recipe and kitty approval. PS: There is a "Marbella Paella" recipe that includes mackerel as the first ingredient, but I was wary of the possibility of farm-raised shrimp. I doubt that the shrimp is wild-caught, but I have not confirmed this. My belief is that if it were wild caught shrimp, they would advertise this. Probably cost prohibitive. September 10, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Tuna, sardines, and Redeye? Yes! Gave this one a try because my cats seem to go for the Weruva fish flavors like nobody's business. This was just as good quality as Marbella Paella -- densely packed fish with very little juice or gravy. Another hit from Weruva! July 9, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by The real deal We discovered after adopting brother cats last April that one is diabetic. I've been having a hard time finding grain-free foods that they both like. Neither cat will eat the pureed/mushy stuff. The Weruva line is great. The Polynesian BBQ looks like a real fish stew. It has big chunks of fish that my cats love. It does smell a little fishy - but 'real' fish fishy. August 10, 2012
Rated 2 out of 5 by Gelatinous Texture The texture is too gelatinous and my cats won't eat it. Another case gets donated to the animal shelter. October 10, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by weuva poynesian bbq One of my cats very favorite foods. I know it's fresh, good food with no bad additives.+ August 4, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Wonderful food! If your cats enjoy seafood, this is a great food for them. The cans are jam-packed with real chunks of seafood and a small amount of aspic. I usually take a can of this food and mix it with a can or two of Weruva Splash Dance. I stir it all up and this mixture feeds two cats for quite a few days. Our cats love Weruva and I love that it is a quality food. Check out their website. It seems like a very responsible company that takes pride in their products. June 4, 2015
