Rated 5 out of 5 by DoubleShepherdy MY GERMAN SHEPHERDS ARE HOOKED!
I have a five year old black and tan male and a four year old black and tan female, whom are with me 24/7. I am disabled and on a budget, but they are service dogs, my male is to help me with my disability, my female is training from him. I had until this year, some problems with skin allergies, but this summer day and night, they were suffering from non stop allergies- biting, licking, and the trial and error of steroids, antibiotics, holistic remedies took a toll on their immune system, joints, and digestive tract. So, I spent hours and hours of research on foods.
I chose this brand because of it having no chicken and no preservatives, and of course the other reviews. My female is finicky, she was rescued from an abusive situation, and gets anxiety and won't eat her morning meal til mid afternoon. She will eat this plain at six a.m. I was shocked. My male very rarely eats without his broth and toppings, but even he will eat this if I am too sick to prepare any broth.
My male, my baby since eight weeks, the first dog trained to help me, was getting diarrhea all summer with meds and he also has spinal degeneration causing numbness and it's hard for him to tell if he is going to the bathroom. My male has hypothryoidism and IBS. He gets diarrhea if I am cannot be with him or has to go to the vet. His incidents of IBS and sore belly from nerves has decreased. I am hopeful that is due to this new diet.
NUMBER ONE, this food is better for them for neither have any bowel problems anymore. Their stool is soft, but not runny or too hard. I add hot cooked chicken broth and either cooked chicken or some cheaper cut beef from a crock pot.
NUMBER TWO, I finally got them both on apoquel, which had to be compounded for it is almost impossible to get from the vet, and their allergies are clearing, and their coats are soft.
Overall, I am on a budget, but for these dogs, I will find a way to help them stay on this food as long as I am able.
They are more playful again, generally more happy, their skin is soft, and for now, we will keep trying this food.

Rated 5 out of 5 by themakai Great Alternative to Orijen
This and Orijen are by far the best dog foods out there, and trust me I know, I have 5 (soon to be 6) Siberian Huskies that are known for sensitive stomachs, and we've been through EVERY brand out there. We've dealt with everything from runny stool to outright refusal to eat, but have had none of those problems using Acana and Orijen! We're not quite ready to make the switch to raw, but these are the closest you can get to it!
They do so well on both Orijen and Acana, it's really amazing. We'll be using both brands in rotation since my pack can't have chicken-based foods. Thanks Champion Pet Foods. Somewhat pricey, but worth it for my pack.

Rated 5 out of 5 by showdogmom Ripley's happy at last!
Ripley was 3 in December 2014, and for the last few months he's been eating Acana. He's finally, actually eating! We've tried most every food on the market, premium and otherwise, but this one works for him. No more loose poops, no more skipped meals, no more "he's too skinny" comments. Ranchlands works best for him, because anything with chicken makes his poop too soft. You might think it expensive, but in my case he chooses to eat just once a day and this is perfect. He's playful and healthy, I'm happy, life is good.

by BeFreegle Excellent Product
As the founder of the BeFreegle Foundation, a non profit helping retired research dogs find sanctuary, it is my personal mission to make sure all of our dogs in our foster care system are eating the Acana foods. For these precious pups, and my own dogs too, there is nothing better. We see a vast improvement in the coats and activity level of every dog we put on the Acana diet. Made from fresh, local sourced ingredients the Acana line stands head and shoulders above the rest. We only feed Acana!

Rated 5 out of 5 by Emily2015 Convenient and Nutritious
I used to feed my little maltese an all raw diet with organic muscle and organ meats. Although I thought that was ideal, my current travel and lifestyle made that extremely challenging. Acana has been an easy transition for us both and we are now on our third bag. He loves the food and I feel good about this convenient, nutritious choice. I recommend giving it a try. I think your pet will thank you!

I have two German Shepherd dogs. They both have sensitive stomachs. One has also chicken allergies. I have tried many different products, until I found Acana ' Ranchland', this food seams to work the digestive systems of my dogs very well, and they like it .
They are happy, I am happy.

Rated 5 out of 5 by responsibleowner absolutely the best dog food- kibble
Better than feeding raw. This food is highly rated by THE WHOLE DOG JOURNAL.......no advertising, no biasis, just thorough analysis. I've fed my whippet for a few years now. Best result ever. You will notice the difference just in stools..........and of course the condition of your dogs. I'm a long time dog owner, trainer, breeder. Canine nutrition has come a long way, but my advise is don't just listen to advertising.....buy the best product for your canine friends. You get what you pay for. And this is so worth it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Starsky Excellant product! Grain free! My dogs love this product. Coats are bright and shiney, stools are firm.Dogs love this product
I have show and breed German Shepherds. I recently switched to Acna Richlands Regional Formula Grain Free. I can tell you I see the difference in coat, condition and the dogs love it. It has lots of good natural stuff. Low carbohdyrates with high protein keep the dogs from gaining fat. My male is going to the Nationals this year and we have made Acana a part of getting him ready to show. Try it you will like it!!!!
