Functions as advertised. Portioning is about right and programing was easy. Our only concern was that one of our cats immediately needed to investigate this magical thing which dispensed food and while doing so he knocked it over. Does not function as well when not upright... We made a cabinet to hide the unit it and used PVC pipe to deliver the food into the bowl. In this way we were also able to pipe the food out to two different bowls and voila! Two cats are automatically fed! Works like a charm.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Pattikakes Even better than before
I purchased the Le Bistro to replace the original one I had from 5 years ago. I loved the older one enough to buy the same again. To my surprise, it has been improved! It is extremely easy to program now, the bin is wider than the original so it doesn't make a mess when filling...and my favorite improvement is the detachable food bowl. This makes it a breeze to clean. It also now has a little trap door to cover the food dispenser (my cat is not happy about this since he can longer help himself to some extra nuggets) My only complaint...I wish the smaller size was available in black.

This product helps us with one of our problem cats wwho don't know when to quit eating. Gives her pre measured portions. Works great and can be programmed for three feedings a day, works on D size batteries.
The only complaint is the portion size, if it could be an eigth cup instead of a quarter cup of food.

Rated 3 out of 5 by Atmbayboy Good. Prior model better.
This is the third LeBistro automatic pet feeder I've owned. I love the convenience of them and will never go back to manually feeding. But after a while the plastic spokes that spin and disburse the food break off, meaning much more food comes out than what's programmed. Would be great if they could fix that design flaw. This third model I bought seems to be doing well but the bowl is much smaller than before, so only a small amount of food can come out before it fills up and stops flowing out. The bigger bowl allowed for larger portions. But all in all, a convenient product that you may need to replace every 2 yrs, but worth it for the convenience.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Gabbers Practical, easy to use
I have had the Petmate Le Bistro Automatic Feeder for a few weeks now. It is easy to use and reliable.
It has given me peace of mind to know that my cat will be fed on a regular schedule. I would recommend this to anyone who wants their pet to get regularly scheduled meals even when the pet parent has an irregular schedule.

by MarleysMom Great Concept - needs some tweaking
Lid on food container is not very secure. My dog knocked it over the first week while I was at work and ate himself into a stuffed sausage!! Timer was easy to program. Looks great in my kitchen. Volume of food dropped on each feeding in not consistent. All in all, it has been a life saver to provide meals 3 times a day so my life no longer revolves on getting home to feed my dog.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Mesa All the right functions
This is a product that is as good as it states.
My only 'druther' is that my cat has figured out how to reach up and trigger the dispensing mechanism. So Mesa is way too smart for her own britches:)
It's tough being the parent of an honor student:)

Rated 4 out of 5 by vahambone I am pleased with this programmable feeder.
I found the programming procedure to be straight forward and easy to do. I ran a test in which I measured the quantity of food dispensed over a 24-hour period and verified that the quantity was what I had programmed.
My only disappointment is that the feeder does not have a "standby" feature because I only intend to use the feeder occasionally when I am away for 24 hours or longer. Apparently, the only way to stop the dispensing is either to stop the clock, which means I have to go through the clock setting procedure the next time that I want to use it, or to set each feeding time to"no," which is awkward and which entails setting each feeding time back to "yes" when I want to resume feeding. At least, the instructions are silent on any other "standby" procedures.
