Rated 5 out of 5 by Works for My Hounds I have sighthounds who range in age from 1 year (very active) to 11 years (more sedentary). I fed raw exclusively for many years but a few years ago decided to mix it up a bit. I fed another meat-based high protein/high fat kibble that was a little too hot for one of my older hounds causing loose stools, something I was not used to after feeding raw. Canidae Grain-Free PURE Elements with Lamb and Grain-Free PURE Elements with Duck both are meat based kibble with the protein and fat content I'm after and they sit well with all the hounds. No more loose stools for the older guy, and the youngsters get the nutrition they need for their active life style without me having to feed different kibble to each of the age groups. I do still feed raw meaty bones (usually chicken) with their evening meal unless we are travelling, but I am comfortable feeding this high quality kibble alone. April 10, 2016
Rated 4 out of 5 by Good Pet Food but not a 5-star yet. I have just purchase this brand of pet food for the first time ever. I introduced it to my pets little by little by mixing it with the previous food we were giving them (Merrick Grain Free Salmon) and my pets did not suffer at all with the changes at first. They are already eating this brand only and I didn't see any changes on their health except for my youngest dog (4 years old) that now has her stool too dry. I will continue watching her and hopefully her body will adjust to the food but if I don't see any improvements, I will have to go back to Merrick. The reason I purchased this brand is because it is recommended with a 5-star review of a pet food advisor. Merrick Grain Free is also a 5-star review but this one is a bit cheaper. I decided to give it a try but I am totally willing to going back to Merrick if my pet does not adjust properly. Besides that, I believe that my pets love the food. The smell is not too attractive compared to other brands but that does not bother my dogs. I gave it a 4-star because of how it smells and how my dogs are adjusting to the food. March 18, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by DOGS LOVE IT! Our 4 canines, who are all of varied backgrounds and gender, have been on Canidae Grain-Free for just a short time, however they love it! They gobble it up at each feeding, there are no signs of problems with digestion. It is a bit soon to be able to see any other pluses or minuses, but we have heard from other dog people that it is GREAT food. May 19, 2016
Rated 4 out of 5 by Concerned with look I have been feeding my one year old golden retriever Canidae pure since she was 12 weeks old. This was my first time ordering from Chewy (I usually buy from a local pet store.) The food from Chewy is a bit darker and a bit larger than every other past package I have fed her. Has anyone else run into this? May 8, 2016
Rated 4 out of 5 by Very good price I have brought this product at popular pet stores and you carry this at a great price even with the shipping cost included. I will surely be ordering more. May 7, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by worked very well. My dog had developed a sensitive stomach to Orijen and Acana, Canidae Elements stopped the vomiting and discomfort.Excellent food. May 4, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great product but dog did not like A quality dog food that I was happy to give my dog , however, she did not eat it readily. She had to be really hungry. I am glad I got the smallest bag to try it first. April 26, 2016
