Thank goodness I found this food. I was in search of a very clean food to help my dogs with allergies and skin issues.
I actually had purchased a different brand of food initially, not as clean as this Caviar brand but still a good food. My dogs didn't like other brand, so I stumbled across this brand in my continued search to help my dogs.
The first thing that is great about this food is, there is a re sealable zipper on the front of the bag, so you can keep it very fresh. You also don't have to spend what seems like a lifetime to switch your dog to Caviar. Just stop the old food and feed your dog the Caviar at 1/2 the amount for the first day and the whole amount after that.
Also, this food lasts a really long time! It's 595 k/cal per cup, most foods are in the 3-4 hundred range. My little terrier gets 1/2 cup/day! My staffy gets 1cup per day, and I mix in a tad of Caviar wet into their food cuz, everything's better with gravy!
I am feeding the Venison currently, then I will switch to another protein. I like that this brand has single protein kibble that's made to rotate to other proteins for a complete amino acid profile. Also, if your dogs have allergies, sometimes it's best to put them on a protein they haven't tried before, and only feed single protein kibble to eliminate if they are allergic to the duck, turkey, etc. or is it something else.
Also, a couple of my dogs were prone to loose bowels, especially when switching foods. Amazingly, with this food, everyone's BM's were immediately normal and firm! Sorry, but I am a Registered Nurse and those things are important! I had a couple of dogs that were doing the butt scooting before this food also, now it's not an issue anymore. During my research, I realized that dogs in the wild consume pretty much all of their prey, and it's certain parts of the prey that help create firm Pooh, which helps the dog clear those smelly glands as they push and work a bit more to have a BM! Who knew? Glad that is a non issue now and no more doggy diarrhea!
One last point, I didn't see that this particular kibble is offered in small breed with smaller kibbles. They do have small breed offered in other flavors. Solution for my two little dogs...hello kitchen blender! I put a cup or two at a time in and just hit pulse a couple of times just to break it up a bit into smaller bits, voila!!
I wish my diet was as good as my dogs diet! I have 5 rescues now, no kids, so the way I see it, I only have a short time to spoil them and make up for the terrible start of their lives. No better way to help your doggy grow old and stay healthy than with this good clean food!

My 2 Akitas had been sick with diarrhea for months, I had tried a variety of premium foods, none of which helped. I was at my wit's end when I found Canine Caviar. The upset bellies cleared up within a couple of days of starting the Canine Caviar and they have not had issues since. This food literally changed my life!

My labrador had major food allergies- chronic ear infections, smelly & dirty ears and constant licking of paws. All the allergy symptoms have alleviated. This food saved me from having to give my dog allergy shots! Highly recommend

My Golden Retriever literally waits by the bag as I fill his bowl....then he jumps for joy. I did the changeover as directed on the bag....do not mix with previous food...and neither dog had a problem....it was a miracle as I could never do that with any other food. I have noticed allot less pet waste & they don't go nearly as often. I lost my other Golden to cancer last year & swore I would do whatever it takes to prevent that horrible disease to attack this Golden. I plan on switching my cats to this product also.

After allergy testing revealed that my dog was allergic to almost everything we tried this food. It is the perfect solution for dogs that have allergies that are found in 99% of all dry foods. We tried numerous high end foods and after about a year of trial and error this one proved to be the best thing we could find next to a raw diet. The local pet food store that suggested this brand said it was the last resort for many of their customers whose dogs have diarrhea caused by food allergies. This was a miracle for us!

I have a dog with food allergies and it is really tough finding a kibble that he can have, so I was very pleased to find that this food has a few simple ingredients and none of his triggers. He is doing great on it and he really likes it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by taratkd Excellent food for picky eaters!!!
One of my friends gave me some of this to try when my VERY finicky chihuahua girl was going through an illness and wouldn't eat ANYTHING no matter what we did. My dog loved it!!! She gobbled it right up and I think it is because of several reasons. For one thing, when you open the bag, it doesn't smell like "dog food." It smells darn good! Very fresh and tantalizing smell which can pique the interest of a picky eater. It is all natural and holistic and grain free which is a big plus. The kibble size is perfect, especially for tiny dogs. If my sweet chihuahua girl eats it, it HAS to be good!

Rated 4 out of 5 by Mom2Tucker Good food, but didn't work for us:(
I have a standard poodle (Service dog) with very severe allergy issues. Was currently home cooking for him, but was trying to find a kibble that will work, as home cooking has been SO expensive. I believe that this is a good food to try for food allergies because of the limited ingredients, and much higher quality than the prescription diets out there, which are much lower in protein and higher in processed grains. Unfortunately, within 12 hours of starting to slowly introduce this food, he got severe diarrhea:( Back to home cooking, maybe I'll try one of the other varieties (like Bison) from this line later on, but they are higher in fat, and he's sensitive to that also. Sigh! If you have a dog with food issues, I would definitely give this food a try- it might work for you.
