by puglvr I'm glad I bought it. It really helps.
My Pug is fed twice a day and she inhales most of her kibble, instead of chewing it. About a month ago, she choked because she had a bunch of kibble stuck in her throat. She couldn't breathe. I had to fish out the kibble so she could breathe again. I knew then, that it was time to do something more than just monitor her while she's eating. We started hand-feeding her. But I couldn't depend on her sitter to do the same when we go out of town. I told a colleague about what happened and she recommended this bowl. I had seen bowls like this before and thought that it wouldn't work for a flat-nosed dog. ...I figured that she wouldn't be able to get all of the kibble out of the bowl with the obstructions. But, I took a chance and bought it, and it really helps. I think she still doesn't chew most of her food, but she can't get as many kibbles in her mouth at one time with this bowl. Which is great. We have always monitored her when she's eating and we will continue to do so, because it's the right thing to do. But I have more peace of mind with this bowl now.

Rated 5 out of 5 by SheilaBellaJack This bowl DOES slow down eating. Nice heavy weight too.
My Shih Tzu girl, dachshund/cocker girl, and chihuahua/terrier boy all gulped their food in a race to the finish. Now I hear crunching from the kibbles being chewed, and no more loud burps when finished. I ordered size small and it's a fine size for my dogs (Chewy also has other color bowls).

Rated 5 out of 5 by Deedo7 No more upchuck!
I am so pleased with the two small bowls I got for my cats. My boys want to eat all the time and gobble anything down lickety split. My older cat needs to have medicine sprinkled on his food twice a day and in the mornings he is usually so hungry he inhales his food and then vomits it back up---wasted medicine and who knows how much he actually got of it. Since using the bowls I've no more morning upchuck to clean up and both of the kitties eating has slowed way down. Very thankful!

I bought this for my kitten who gulps down her food and it works well. She doesn't like that it slows her down so she keeps going to the other cat's bowl so I guess I should get one for him too!

I got this for my 3lb and 5 lb Chi's. They seem to like the bowls and have slowed down their gobbling food.
Would recommend it.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Trish Works better than other slow bowls
We have a half pug/half Boston mix. Love her to death but she eats like a vacuum. This bowl slows her down to half her usual speed. Much better than other bowls we've tried. Heavier, too......so it stays put.

by Rowena Thought it was pastel pink, turned out to be mauve IRL!
I have a cute shepherd mix named Bambi who I spoil with all pastel pink accessories. Collar, lead, toys, etc... So I was very happy to come across a feeding bowl that not only APPEARED pastel pink, but also had great functionality.
I opened my chewy.com box and found that it is in fact a pink mauve. Like literally, the color of mauve lipstick popular in the Fall, more purple than pink.
All in all, I am definitely happy with the functionality of the bowl, as now Bambi does not scarf her food down in 2 seconds. The bowl is high quality, has a nice weight to it, and has anti-slip rim so it doesn't move. I am just going to reiterate one last time to those thinking it's pastel pink: IT'S NOT!
I feed Bambi twice a day, 1 cup in the AM and PM, and that measurement fits perfectly into the size Small :)!
