Evanger's Beef Tripe Freeze-Dried Dog & Cat Treats
Used to be great but are now large, rock hard chunks.
When I first started giving my dog these treats they were at the top of her preference list and for me they worked great because I was able to cut the one inch dehydrated cubes into smaller training bits that did not crumble. Yet somewhere along the way, Evanger's changed the product. The ones that are now available are large pieces that are so rock hard that they are impossible to break by hand or even cut with a chef's knife and the pieces are way too big to serve singly during training. Someone needs to tell Evanger's not to leave the tripe strips in the dehydrator until they become stones. Sadly, I will not repurchase them as they are unusable.

even elderly fussy eater loves it
These tripe treats are stinky, like a barnyard. But my elderly Airedale loves them and has a couple as a treat every day. She's gotten so fussy that I have trouble keeping weight on her, but she always gobbles these down.

Hard to handle
I've fed my dogs lots of tripe treats and, of course, they like them. These are dried, not freeze dried, and are just hard to give to the dogs because they leave an awful smell on my hands. It looks like they have a lot of fat on them but I'm not sure if it is fat or not. I don't think I'll buy them again.

Great, wholesome treat for allergy sufferers!
My two dogs are severe allergy sufferers and they love these treats, as well as many other freeze-dried treats by Evangers. They are more expensive than the mainline store brands, but you can see exactly what you are getting and, as importantly, what you are not! No additives of any kind, no cooking to extreme temps to cook all flavor and nutrition out of the ingredients. Also, high quality ingredients, freeze-dried and flavorful. My pups are johnny-on-the-spot, when they hear me reach for this treat and other Evangers freeze-dried varieties. Grain free, gluten free and additive free. And, for my allergy sufferers, the only ingredient is beef tripe. Also the nutritional values for this treat are outstanding: Protein, min 40%; fat, min 25%; fiber, max 1% and moisture, max 9%.
Sensitive stomachs or not, these and other Evangers freeze-dried treats are an awesome, nutritious option that redefines the word, "treat" !

Only good of it was the taste
I have 2 small dogs, & they could finish the container in one sitting. There were decent sized treats in the container, but the container wasn't even full! Not only that, the container was broken/cracked, and the crumbs were all over the shipping box.
The image chewy.com provides makes me believe the container would be full and possibly larger, and I'm not penalizing the website for the brand's low quality of packaging, but this can't be the first time this has happened.
I'll try again maybe with a different type of treat but from the same brand, but the half empty broken up way it came was unacceptable.

Mixed feelings about this one
I tried to avoid the scrabble for treats between my four cats and my dog so I went for cross-species treats. My dog loves them but the chunks are simply too big for a cat and due to the unique smell of tripe, crushing the treats is not very pleasant. Pieces are also very hard and difficult to break into smaller chunks for the cats.

Soft tasty treats loved by my dogs.
Smelly, but very tasty. My dogs devoured them. Would love to see them is larger sizes.
