it contains 100% salmon. Not other fish, even though "fish broth" is listed on the label. This is very important as my dog is allergic to everything, and I mean everything, except salmon and rabbit. I was told it says fish broth because the AAFCP and FDA do not recognize the term "salmon broth". So far so good. No itching or chewing her feet. They are the only company I have found that has dog food made in the USA that contains only one ingredient.

Rated 5 out of 5 by beaglewoman A fabulous fish food!!!
Unlike some other "fish" foods that look more like pate' than fish this is clearly fish!!! Thank goodness it is ground up but there is no fooling the cats or dogs regarding the real deal - and this is it. A perfect topper for Evanger's dry food.

by ezra good
Has an intense fish smell which is good for dogs or cats that are refusing food. Has a liquidey consistency, not too solid, so you do not get as much as you thought you would. It is better used as a supplement rather than a daily food.

Rated 3 out of 5 by bgage Good but watery
I like this food, but I do believe that I am paying for a lot of water along with the salmon. I divide this among my 3 cats for their evening meal. They love the taste, but I think there should be more substance and less moisture in it for them. Perhaps, though, foods that have a thicker consistency just have more thickener--it is hard to tell exactly what you are getting when you can't observe the manufacturing process.

Rated 5 out of 5 by MomOfSev Silky Coats!
I always knew that salmon oil was good for their skin and coats, so when I saw this - pure salmon, I had to get it. Our two German Shepherds love it, and yes, their coats are so silky. I also like that it adds another form of protein to their Orijen diet. Highly recommended!

Rated 5 out of 5 by Bonzai Very Happy Doggy
I opened the can and it smelled like smoked salmon, which is a good thing. The salmon is ground into a soft food, so it worked perfectly as a mix with my dog's dry kibble...and my dog loved it!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by BruceWayne71 My pitbull has allergies that seem to disappear
My pitbull has allergies. I use to feed her boiled chicken on top of her dry food because she wouldn't eat dry food alone. She would get red patches on her belly all of the time regardless if I bought organic, natural, or the regular boneless chicken breast. I went to a local dog food retailer and she recommended I try Evanger's wet dog food. I've tried several of these can foods (Salmon, Pheasant, Buffalo, Beef, Pork) and the red patches on my dog's belly have now disappeared. I will continue to use the Evanger's wet dog food and try the Evanger's Super Premium Beef Dinner Canned Dog Food, 13.2-oz, case of 12

Both dogs gobbled it up and no upset stomachs. Pure food - ingredients minimal.
