Rated 5 out of 5 by NickG Best Dog Food For Itchy Pets
I LOVE this dog food. Sure, it smells a little like fish food, and that can be a bit annoying, but you know what isn't annoying? Coming home to find no clumps of dog hair, and your dog NOT biting off the hair on her legs, which she did for almost 6 months straight.
My dog, Kayla, has a terrible food allergy. I tried everything, Wellness Core, limited ingredient foods, lamb, venison, even spent $800 on a biopsy from Cornell to try to get to the bottom of it, which got me no where. Her itching was so bad, she would take off pieces of skin!! And no I am not making this up.
Luckily I came across this food after months of trying to find a compatible food, and needless to say, it is a God send. All her hair has grown back, her itching has gone from constant to almost none existent (like maybe once a week for a second or two).
If your dog is having skin or allergy issues, I can not recommend this food enough. Plus my dog likes to food, and eats it up in no time.
Stop messing with the rest, and get the best.

Rated 5 out of 5 by sisu Excellent for Older Dogs
My 3 dogs, ages 7, 10 and 14, love this food, have energy, and beautiful coats with no supplements needed. They have no tear stains or skin problems. There is no unpleasant dog odor and rarely an ear infection when feeding grain free. Older dogs require more protein due to their less efficient digestion. Mine thrive on a monthly rotation of EVO formulas and/or a mixture of 1/4 EVO Salmon and Herring with 3/4 of another formula.
EVO is a premium kibble that lives up to the name. The formulas have an abundance of meat rather than rely on carbohydrates to increase the protein percentage. The EVO Salmon and Herring formula is high in Omega 3s which are lacking in many dog foods. The combination of quality meats and Omega 3s in sufficient quantity result in a lean, muscular dog with a deep, rich shiny coat.
When transitioning to EVO, especially from a lower protein, high carbohydrate food, make the transition slow as the dog may need time to develop the digestive enzymes needed to properly digest this food. At any time there is soft stool feed less of the EVO for 3-4 days, then add a few pieces of the kibble each day. For some dogs it may take 2 weeks. For others a more gradual transition of 4 weeks may be needed. Also, reduce the amount being fed as overfeeding is a primary cause of digestive problems.
EVO Salmon and Herring is one of the highest calorie foods available with 516 calories per cup. It is easily digested. Compare this to the food you are currently feeding as you will probably need to feed less. The combination of high calorie and digestibility makes EVO Salmon and Herring a very cost effective food.
EVO is a Natura product. The food is manufactured in their company owned facility. Natura is one of the few companies that provide a full Nutritional Analysis, not just a Guaranteed Analysis with minimum and maximum amounts. The recent recalls are based on a sample of cat food and some treats. The expanded recalls appear to be from caution and concern by the company, not the threat of FDA action. Unlike other companies that have placed the recall notice on the 5th or 6th page of their site, Natura has been forthcoming with the information and has done everything possible to assist the customer in obtaining replacement food or a refund.
Having fed some 15 brands of premium kibble through the years EVO is one of the few brands I continue to recommend. Evo has a 100% satisfaction guarantee and a reputation for excellent customer service.

Rated 5 out of 5 by jaguar Worth every penny
My lab has allergies to most foods. My vet told me about expensive pills, shots etc. My dog had scratched himself and chewed his skin raw. I knew we had to do something to help him. A lady that works at pet supermarket told me about the Evo herring and salmon. The only treats he can have is pigs ears and NO table scraps. Within three weeks his hair started growing back and he was beautiful again. It will be a year in May that he's been following that diet and no problems. And even better he loves it. It's much easier to order it from Chewy because it's delivered to my door and I don't have to carry it. I tell everyone I see with a dog about it. Thank You from me and Tank.

Rated 4 out of 5 by JoanieGranola Dogs love it
I researched extensively to find a food that I thought would be healthy and beneficial to my dogs. Specifically, arthritis and sensitive stomachs. I like that it has no grains or starches and contains such a high concentration of fish. My dogs love it.
I did not know that Proctor & Gamble recently acquired Natura. Personally, I am not a fan of P&G and will more than likely find another food. I haven't yet noticed any major changes other than slight color and kibble size since the takeover (but that can vary from batch to batch).

I have two Blue Heelers that are big time Frisbee lovers...we hit competition after competition....I switched to EVO because it had the most joint support in it for these active girls! Not only did i see the change but my older heeler had tons more energy and played hard all over again, so much that now you cant tell which one is the pup....their shedding is now reduced very considerably so far, and they are happier and playing harder than ever...Thanks EVO! by MomOfSev EXCELLENT Super Premium Food
Having two dogs can be tricky when one of them is incredibly picky and with preferences that seem to change with the wind. My two German Shepherd Dogs always receive compliments for their muscle tone, white teeth, and shiny coats, and I'd always credited their health to the Orijen that they were eating.
However, about 2 months ago, the picky one stopped eating it. I went through other super premium, high protein, grain-free foods (even some not available on this site) with no luck... until we got to Evo. She LOVES this one in particular. As others have said, I believe it's due to the strong fishy smell.
Note: both dogs did have diarrhea at first, even though the transition to Evo was gradual, but their stools returned to normal after about a week and a half when their systems adjusted. This reaction is NOT unusual with rich foods like this so don't let this temporary effect stop you from feeding this food - in the end, this is MUCH better for your dog than many of the other foods out there - closest to their "in the wild" diet than most other kibbles.
They're doing great on this food, and they're as gorgeous and healthy as ever.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Heath123 Great for allergies!
We have been through so many dog foods and our poor dog has suffered through shots, pills and tests. When we switched to this food all of a sudden it all went away. His coat is thick, he stopped itching and no more hot spots!

Rated 5 out of 5 by CarolinaGirl11 Best product for sensitive dogs!
Our sweet dog has a sensitive stomach as well as allergies that make him scratch constantly. We have tried every dog food on the market. This is the only product that works for him and leaves his coat skinny and beautiful! The smells not so great, but it's well worth it!! Try it, you won't regret it!
