FURminator Long Hair deShedding Edge For Dogs
Just ok on long hair
Have 2 australian shepherds with medium long, wavy, coarse top coat and thick undercoat. I had hoped this would do a better job getting down to the undercoat and help control shedding but am disappointed it doesn't really do the job. The teeth are too close together to get through their coarse top coats.

OK, but way overpriced and over hyped
I have an Alaskan Malamute / Akita mix. Shedding doesn't seem to have been reduced much, and we seem to do better with a standard wire brush. We are able to get some of the undercoat to come up with the FURminator, but it seems to loosen up the hair and actually INCREASES the amount of fur that gets in the house and on the furniture.

Really good deShedder
This brush has some really cool features. First, it works really well at cleaning up shedding hair. Then, when it gets loaded up, just press the "Furejector" and the hair dumps into a garbage can. Clean and easy.
Now I need to buy the next size up.

So far, so good!
We purchased this for our collie/shepherd/lab puppy. so far, I'm impressed with the FURminator. Well worth the money! We'll see how well it stands up when she's older and bigger!!

FURminator works really well!
We put off buying the FURminator because of the price but purchased other brushes and desheding tools instead. However after finally talking my husband into trying it he and I both wish we had bought it sooner and not tried others that worked ok but not nearly as good as the FURminator. We have an large Aussie with long thick hair and Spaniels with long thick fine hair and it works Great! We always get a big pile of hair after brushing so we have decided to brush them once a week and it takes no time at all since we started weekly. Yes, the first time might seem a little more difficult as some say but I believe it is because the fur had gotten so thick in the first place. After a few regular brushings the fur is easier to brush through. I do need to eject the fur often because the FUrminator gets so much out. It works very well and we will repurchase when ever this one gets dull because it saves me so much work in vacuuming and house cleaning since we started using it regularly. You may want to reward your dog with kibble or treats because if you haven't used this before and the fur is thick it may take some gentleness and patience on both your parts to get the fur to where it brushes more easily. Chewy.com has great prices!
