Rated 5 out of 5 by Caleb Solved my dog's food allergies!
I purchased this food for my one and a half year old male German Shepherd who was not responding well to other foods, including those that were single protein sources. At first, I thought he had a chicken allergy because he was constantly itching and regurgitating his food. The vet suggested I try a different food, so I did - several. He would be fine for a few weeks, then would have the same issues. I tried every top name brand single protein source food (Blue Buffalo, Wellness, etc.), including different proteins like fish and duck, but nothing helped. I was hesitant to purchase a vegan food, but I went out on a limb and decided to try it. It worked!! He's been eating it for over a month now with no issues. The itching has subsided for the most part, and his coat is looking shiny and healthy. I was surprised that he actually likes the food. I don't typically write reviews, but I decided I would incase anyone out there is experiencing similar issues. It's a little on the expensive side... I hope in near future Halo will make a larger bag.

My dogs Fred and Barney love the Halo Vegan Garden Medley Formula Dry dog food. It comes in small bits so when I give a 1/4 cup, it is a "full" 1/4 cup. My Barney is a little overweight so I am using this to cut down on his calories.
I definitely recommend this dog food!

Rated 5 out of 5 by SueBee THIS PRODUCT HAS HELPED MY DOG IN A COUPLE OF SIGNIFICANT WAYS
The first problem we encountered with our dog (at 7 months old) was food allergy. Once I was able to find a food with a protein source that wouldn't set off his digestive system allergy, I wanted to find a higher fiber food product that would help other digestive tract issues. Halo Garden Medley dry dog food, when mixed in equal parts with his other dry dog food, was a smashing success !!! And I know that if he develops allergy to the other dry food, he can have Halo Garden Medley exclusively. I just hope there are enough folks out there using this food, to keep it in production.

Rated 5 out of 5 by drldm This food helped resolved my dog's intestinal issues
Our five pound Shidoodle has had Inflammatory Bowel Disease his entire life of seven years. After too many medications, home cooking and many alternative proteins, he finally has relief---and so do we! Who knew what he really needed was to be a Vegan?
The Chewy customer service representative could not have been more helpful in finding us a food to suit his specific needs after a previous order didn't work out.

Rated 5 out of 5 by SandflyNV my dogs and I approve of Halo Vegan Garden Medley
I recently decided to test run a few vegan dry and canned foods for the kids. Halo dry is one of those choices as well as one other. When the food arrived I opened up the Halo first, curious as heck to see the responses from each of the 4 dogs I bought it for. Each one took a smell and then eagerly took their treat looking for more. I will say that my dogs are all easy to feed as there isn't much they would turn down. All the small dog pack, made up of 2 Chinese Cresteds and 2 Chihuahuas, are used to eating freeze dried raw foods with no grains included. I was very happy to see that they didn't discriminate with food that didn't have meat or organ meats in it. I also bought some Halo vegan canned and will be giving them all a new, wider variety of meals. I expect all the dogs to do well with their new foods in their food rotation.

Rated 5 out of 5 by SpecialNeedsUpTheWazoo The best of the vegan/vegetarian dog foods we've tried
Our 16 year old pup has food allergies to animal protein (finally found out a year after adopting her after every other elimination diet our vet tried failed to help) and was put on a vegetarian diet 10 years ago. In that time, we've tried several varieties of vegetarian or vegan dog food. I've tasted them, especially when we were deciding between types and this is definitely one of the tastier ones (I remember one of the ones our pup turned her nose up at tasted like salty cardboard...I didn't make her finish that brand's bad). Now that she's older, it's been harder to get her interested in food in general and she's actually seemed to enjoy eating a lot more since we switched to halo maybe two years ago when her old brand went through a formula change. She's a healthy 40 pound dog and has made it to 16. Our other pup, 30 pounds and healthy aside from genetic conditions, was also on the veggie diet to avoid accidental allergy contamination with non-veggie food, died at 16 about a year ago, so if you're worrried about the healthiness of a veggie diet on dogs, I'd point my babies out as an example of it working pretty darned well :)
