Hill's I/D has been the turnaround! Madison is my soon-to-be 9-year-old Cocker Spaniel. Just before his 4th b/d he was diagnosed with cancer & had to undergo weekly chemo treatments for six weeks. From the first treatment he was terribly ill, with diarrhea and vomiting that couldn't be controlled. A year later we almost lost him due to severe pancreatitis. He was on medicine and monthly blood checks for almost another year. His GI tract seems to have been damaged from all the chemicals and medicines he's had to take. Last month, following a day of non-stop diarrhea and vomiting, I took him to my vet who prescribed Hill's I/D wet food. Since then he's had no recurrence of those problems and - not only has he tolerated the change in his diet - he can't seem to get enough it! I only wish he'd been put on this diet years ago. Product is great My Duke dog loves this food, he was first prescribed another low fat prescription food and would not eat it. He loves this food. He is 23 year old Schnauzer and was very ill and in the emergency hospital for a week and would not eat only ID. He regained strength and is now home. December 30, 2013
Life saver for my male Yorkie My male Yorkie Teddy used to get giardiasis so bad that he would have bloody diarrhea and vomiting all night. The vet said to use this as his primary diet, and also to give him probiotics. He has done extremely well on this food for years now. Actually, he used to eat regular I/D, but when the low fat version was introduced, we switched to that. Fat can exacerbate GI problems. October 7, 2013
This is an excellant product I have a Yorkie who did not like dog food. He had issued with his stomach, I took him to the Vet and they gave me id/low fat GI Restore. I didn't think he would eat this but it resolved his stomach problem and now he loves it and I give it to him everyday and he is off table food. Thank you for this product. December 29, 2013
My dog loves Hill's and it's good for her, too! We bought Hill's i/d GI Restore because our dog was having problems with retail dog food. We've just started feeding her with Hill's. She eats it right up and it appears to be easing her stomach and intestinal distress. June 23, 2014
Affordable Prescriptive Food delivered to the door on a regular basis. Our good old pug was diagnosed with a digestive disorder and prescribed a diet of Hill's Prescriptive Low Fat GI (wet & dry) by our Vet in April 2013. We've kept her on this diet and meds and she's AOK with her new normal. We are thrilled to save $16 every month on the two cases she consumes / vacuums down. And we <3 saving time, money and gas by having our monthly order auto-shipped. Two paws up and one wagging tail! Thanks Hills and Chewy for putting our pug back in the pink of health and keeping our check book out of the red !!! November 19, 2013
Concerned about certain ingredients that we are supposed to avoid. How can this food be good for your dog if it contains pork by products. It also contains dried beet pulp which adds additional sugar to his/her diet? February 6, 2014
Works for My Dog I cannot be certain that adopting this food was absolutely necessary to my pet's health, as it was among many changes we made to manage a cascading series of serious health issues this past winter. This and its accompanying kibble are very expensive. My vet recommended it along with a series of other dog foods and many medications. It was the last in the line and it is likely her new medications are primarily responsible for her improved health. It is unlikely we will change her diet again to save the hefty $$, albeit we aretempted since her "allergies" have not come back despite being back on chicken and beef treats and chews. June 27, 2014
