JW Pet Gripsoft Dematting Rake Customer Reviews

JW Pet Gripsoft Dematting Rake 4.8 5 9 9
This product is exactly what I needed. This product is exactly what I was looking for to use on dematting my maltipoo. Chewy.com also delivered it very fast! December 30, 2012
Rake for matted hair is helpful I have always been afraid to try a rake on my sensitive dog because others have had razor blades in them, I shied away from trying them. I used this JW Pet Gripsoft Dematting Rake as instructed, keeping it at the correct angle away from my dogs skin, and did not dig into the matts, just gently eased the rake in a little at a time and wiggle it cutting through the matted hair. Along with my steel comb and dog brush this was a helpful tool to add to my grooming kit. Thanks. March 14, 2013
Great for mats! I have a Cocker Spaniel whose skirt mats easily. Of course, he doesn't enjoy having mats removed from his skirt and I don't like cutting them out which leaves his coat looking choppy. This rake works very well, but BE CAREFUL! Read the directions before using and be sure to hold the rake away from the skin as directed. The blades are very sharp and can hurt your pet more than the mats. As long as it is used correctly, there is little pulling and my dog doesn't mind when I use it to remove the mats. April 29, 2013
I was wrong; I thought it wouldn't work. I have two standard poodles in which I let their coats grow out in the winter time. Their hair gets matted very quickly unless brushed every day, especially if it is bitter cold out and I use a winter coat for long extended walks. I bought the JW Dematting Rake despite my first impression that it wouldn't work; the price was too low for a tool that would work and I couldn't find any good video reviews or written reviews that it would work on standard poodles. I was wrong. It works very well and the dogs like it compared to other brushes and dematting tools that I have used in the past. They try to nudge each other to be first to get brushed, instead of running away after two minutes of brushing. I recommend this "rake" to anybody with a dog with long hair. The only tools that I need for brushing are the rake, a slicker or ball pin type brush and possibly some FURminator DeTangling Waterless Spray. The other tools I used in the past can now be donated to the animal shelter. February 18, 2014
Not exactly what I wanted I didn't realize from the picture or description how long the 'teeth' were on this. They are about 4 inches long, which makes it a little difficult for me to use - I'd gotten it for my husky to help when she's blowing her coat. It does work, but I have to use it very slowly and carefully in order to get it down into her under coat since the ends of the teeth are quite blunt. I imagine it works great for dogs with longer or curly coats. The brush itself seems well made, and for the price I'm still impressed. May 30, 2014
This product works! First of all I received this the next day! That never happens. Thank you. My dog had bad matts. This tool worked great. You just have to be careful as it is sharp. I would recommend this product. April 9, 2014
very good grip and works well When I saw this product. I had doubts. My dogs are long coat German Shepherds. I decided to use this and was very happy with results. There was no pulling to the skin, and it took care of all the mats after getting their baths. I think I will throw away the old one. thank you Theresa. N.H. February 24, 2014
Best tool out there for untangling our poodle. We've tried many different tools to manage our "casual" styled poodle. This works easily without snagging, pulling, or scratching. We use this tool first and finish up with a simple comb. December 11, 2013
