Rated 5 out of 5 by Kimmers Wonderful fix for skin allergies!
I have Staffordshire Bull Terriers and one began showing signs of skin allergies as an adolescent pup as well as some localized demodex mange (non-contagious; itching, dry coat, slight fur loss on the face, more itching, etc) so I put the dogs on a grain-free food. Not much change in him. I then tried a different one, but I have found a chicken allergy is quite common in this breed also, so I began Merrick Grain Free Pork/Sweet Potato - and the change was amazing. Within a week he was far less itchy, within a month he was better. Now after 4 months he is perfect. Allergies are gone, and demodex feeds on yeast - from grain food too, so it's gone! I now ONLY feed my dogs this food, and I have removed all grain and chicken/chicken fat dog food and treats completely. This is a very well made, wholesome dog food with LOTS of protein (very important in bully breeds.) What a difference - I love it!

My min. schnauzer had terrible itching and skin issues when I adopted her... we quickly changed to a grain free food but it wasn't helping. Fish oil, specialty baths... not helping. A friend happened to mention that some dogs are allergic to chicken... I had never heard of such a thing. Not to mention finding a high quality, grain-free, chicken-free product was not easy. SOOOO happy I discovered this pork formula. The itching has completely stopped. And it's a great brand to boot. Would highly recommend.

My 8 year old mutt has had the worst skin issues since she's allergic to fleas. Her long hair always felt dirty and oily a day after her bath, and she's always had this strange smell to her.
I bought Merrick duck for my puppy, but ended up switching her to a different food. When our mutt, Sadie ran out of hers, I gave her some of her left over food, and she loved it! Less than a week later, she has lost a good bit of weight, but regained muscle. She smells better, looks better and finally has tons of energy. She has had hip issues for a while, but now she looks better!
Now, I don't say this about a lot of foods, because it typically takes a while to see a difference, but with this food, it was less than 2 weeks. I'll be purchasing large bags for her in the future!

After realizing that there were questionable ingredients in my dog's prescription, hypoallergenic kibble, I took a chance on Merrick grain-free at the advice of another dog owner. I have transitioned between the two foods very slowly, but things are going well so far, and my dog seems to enjoy the taste.

I love this food, from what research I have been able to do its one of the few that has over 30% protein and is animal based protein. My allergy dog is doing great on it. And for how good a food it seems to be the price isnt bad at all (yet). If i could all my dogs would be on this food only. LOVE IT! LOVE IT! LOVE IT!
however my delivery from chewy took six day total, not happy about that at all.

The ingredients make you feel confident that your dog is getting the best. We just switched from nutro natural choice, which our 9 month old shepherd mix completely stopped eating. When we got merrick, she went wild over it. No problems since. Her coat is shining and so soft now too

My dog is a very picky eater and we have tried several different brands and flavors of kibble. This is his very favorite! He likes the beef too so we switch it up from time to time. Amazing ingredients and made in the USA! We are now Merrick brand lifers.

I stumbled upon this dog food this summer. Both of my girls, a black lab and a rottie/shepherd mix, are shelter dogs. The rottie/shepherd was abandoned in the neighborhood when her "family" moved. She had to fend for herself. Consequently, she can only eat high quality, grain free food. Any other kind of food makes her sick. I bought this because I thought the girls would like the pork. They do! My foster dog, a pittie mix, loves it too. I highly recommend Merrick grain free.
