Rated 2 out of 5 by Bubbaluv Tomato juice is much better
When my dog got hit by a skunk I washed him immediately with dog shampoo and the next morning I bought this. It seems like it works at first, but the next time my dog got wet he would smell like skunk again. It took 3 months to get the smell all the way out and I went through two quarts of this stuff. One year later he got nailed again, but this time I had tomato juice on hand. I used shampoo and added the tomato juice to the shampoo lather. I could feel the skunk juice curdling up from the tomato juice, and the next day the smell was GONE. Unbelievable!

The key to successfully ridding your pet of skunk spray odor is to follow the directions. Keep in mind that skunk spray is an oily liquid which clings and permeates. DON'T just wet your pet's coat with the product - thoroughly saturate it down to the skin (I used almost an entire 32 oz. bottle on my small Jack Russell when he was recently sprayed face-on). DON'T skimp on the setting time - let the product stay on the pet for the recommended 5 minutes (I let it work on the above JR for 8 with no skin irritation afterwards). DON'T just rinse off - thoroughly rinse product from pet; follow with a thorough good shampooing, then another thorough rinse. You will be very pleased with the results. Admittedly, when the pet gets wet, some of the skunk odor does return, but to a very slight degree. You can always do another round of the Skunk Odor Remover, which will eliminate even that residual odor. Highly recommended. Chewy.com has extremely fast shipping and a very good price. I always keep at least one full bottle on hand per dog (plus an extra) as we live in the country where wildlife is abundant.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Ridgebacks Works pretty well
THIS is a go-to remedy when you need skunk remover immediately. No mixing. One thing that will help it work better is to pat a paper towel on the fur to remove the excess spray..THEN apply the liquid. It didn't remove it completely, but enough that I could bring my dog into the house to repeat the process. The peroxide/baking soda/dish detergent is still the reigning champion, though...

Rated 5 out of 5 by BaileysMom Great for any odors
Used for older dog who had diminishing bladder control due to spinal injury. Just pour into an old spritzer bottle and use on bedding, belly pad, carpets, sofa...even safe to use directly on your dog.
