Customer Ratings & Reviews

Rated 4.6 out of 5 by 16 reviewers.
Rated 5 out of 5 by best canned dog food My dog loves Instinct lamb and duck canned food. The important aspect of Instinct canned is that the brand is one of few that promise that their can linings are PBA free. My holistic vet highly recommends Instinct canned for that reason and also because of the nutritional value. She recommends home-made dog food, of course, but if you don't have the time, her no. 1 choice is Stella and Chewy's, then Instinct canned. She does not recommend kibble for many reasons, including the danger of high temps during the extrusion process. March 22, 2012
Rated 5 out of 5 by GREAT FOR ALLERGIES ! I mix this canned food with the kibble for my beagle. She loves it & it's great for a dog wit allergies, especially since it's grain free. Sticking with this canned food & not searching for another. March 8, 2014
Rated 3 out of 5 by Texture is a bit dry.... If your dogs are anything like mine, they like meaty and moist food. I think this especially important when mixing in with kibble. My dogs are each different size/age but all three are under a year and even starving they lacked the interest in this food. There is very little moisture in the can newly opened, and refrigerating removes it almost entirely. I had to add broth or gravy to appease puppies which is very hard to do since they eat anything. I have a daucshund, Yorkiepoo, and a chi terrier mix. **This varies per protein within the product line, I have not encountered this with the other two options** March 20, 2013
Rated 3 out of 5 by Ingredients are great, but food is really firm This is the firmest canned food I've ever seen. I split a can of food in half every night to give to my puppies. I like to mash it into the bowl to make it harder for them to just gulp down. But this food makes that hard to do since it's so firm. It's like clay. January 2, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Grain free foods In one of your emails sent regularly, you suggested if my dog had tummy troubles, the recommendation was to go grain free, which I did using the same brand that I was regularly using. Thank you, thank dog runs to her food now at mealtime and hasn't had an upset stomach since going grain free. Thanks for all you do, Ann Williamson March 5, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by This food has great ingredients This food has great ingredients and the dogs love it. 2 of my 4 dogs have major food sensitivities so I did a lot of research in regards to ingredients. I trust this food for being healthy and nutritional for my dogs. July 4, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great product My dog loves Nature's Variety products. Since going grain and potato free, her skin allergies have lessened, her coat is shiny and soft, and her arthritic symptoms have lessened. I have my other two terriers on the kibble, and they also love the food and are getting great benefits from it. I'd recommend this product to anyone. April 12, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by An excellent choice for your pet I have started using this product on my 4 yr. old dog. He really likes the taste and is happy with this meal. He is not a "gulper" and can leave food in his dish for some time. But, this type of food doesn't last long. We are both happy I found it. January 20, 2015
