Customer Ratings & Reviews

Rated 5 out of 5 by ~No More Allergies or G.E.R.D.~ When I met my last rescue pet, Dixie, approximately 9 years ago, she was a real mess--both externally and internally. She exhibited a nervous condition (G.E.R.D.) that my vet said was due to her previous horrendous living conditions; that is to say, everything that went down her goozle promptly came right back up! She was painfully emaciated, skeletal almost, and her blood-work was all over the place. So, after a round of IV fluids and 2 small bags of 'Science Diet' chow, Dixie came home with me to recuperate and to learn how to live in a loving home. The first thing I did was to research which pet foods would address her particular condition; I knew that I didn't want to keep her on the 'Science Diet' regimen--it's too full of ingredients that I feel don't belong in a proper diet for dogs. Lo' and behold, I stumbled upon the "Nature's Variety Instinct" formula for dogs. It seemed like a good fit, due to all of the proper ratios #protein/fat# and totally 'GRAIN-FREE". Viola! The rest, as they say, is history....9 years later, Dixie now weighs in at approximately 24 loving, happy pounds of my friendly and well-adjusted best friend. April 24, 2012
Rated 5 out of 5 by It's crazy but true!!! If anyone has a pug, you can relate...You know that pug smell from your dog. That smell that you can't get away from them even after numious bathes! Well after our vets suggestion because of allergys, we tried Nature's Variety dog food. After 1 week of this food our pug doesn't have allergy problems nor does he smell like that pug smell! I know it's crazy, but it is so true. I now don't mind having our pug sleeping with us on our bed. August 30, 2012
Rated 5 out of 5 by Healthier choice for an older dog with allergies Our picky dog has transitioned to this healthier food quite easily. Her stools are smaller - which is nice too! February 7, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great food at great price I did a lot of research on grain free foods and this food scored one of the highest out of every brand out there. My dog (lab) absolutely loves it, has not had an ear infection since switching, super silky coat, and not to mention with no grain filler feeding quantities are smaller which means this bag lasts longer than his older food which was a 40 pound bag. Excellent product and excellent website! December 30, 2012
Rated 5 out of 5 by 3 Pitbulls Who Love This Food I originally got this for one of my rescue pits who has a lot of skin issues (what pit doesnt right?) Then I read the ingredience and decided to switch it for all my pooches. They're not too active during the work week so I only give them 2 cups a day and give them a bit more on the weekends where as with the other food i was giving i was giving double for just one day. So with the price difference and the mouths to feed with this brand Im giving them a better quality food at the same cost of the other. December 30, 2012
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great Food-No More Allergies-Upset Stomach After tons of research, trail and error and a pup with a finicky stomach I came across this brand after I did some research and found it is top rated! This food does not use Gaur Gum,Carrageenan or Cassia Gum in thier canned food which is what "I" believe to be the issue with the constant scratching of my dogs not the meat product of "chicken". They also do not use rice or white potatoe in thier dry dog food which I believe was the issue for my finicky stomach dog who couldn't digest them. All 4 of my dogs love both the dry and canned and I can switch flavors with no issues at all!! I love this brand and company and highly recommend thier food. August 10, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Life Saver for Yeast Infections I have tried many different grain-free foods in an attempt to solve my dogs yeast infection issues. This food is the winner. I believe it is due in large part to the fact that it has tapioca in place of potatoes which other grain-free foods use. So if you have been trying to solve a yeast infection with your dog, I recommend trying this food. The last time I checked, the brand had no recalls. It is made in the USA and is a top-rated dog food. I wish all of the flavors were the same price... but my dog will just have to be happy with the chicken for now. On that note, he is VERY happy with this food. He literally forgets to chew and swallows the pieces whole. The pieces are very small, so this food is great for all sizes. May 17, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Excellent food... This is the second of the Instinct flavors we've fed our dog - mixed breed, female, 1 1/2 yrs old. She loves the food. All dogs, like people, are different - but the Instinct dry food gives our pup a nice, shiny hair coat - she sheds alot but I believe that's a trait of hers; her muscle tone is very impressive; has lots of energy; her stools are always consistent and she's not gassy at all - I'm serious !! She gets a total of 4 cups a day and with exercise - she is in perfect health. We highly recommend Natures Variety Instinct dry food. January 18, 2013
