I got this to store dog dental treats but was disappointed to find that it's not well suited for this. It's got a metal lid that fits well, but not tightly, onto the container. If you're worried about ants or food staying fresh, you're out of luck. This is just decorative, I guess.

This is a really fun accessory to have out on the counter. It's pretty thick & sturdy, and well made with no sharp edges. The top does NOT fit on tightly like a regular trash can would, but I like it that way so I don't have to use two hands to pry it open just to get a snack out. The top, however, does fit securely enough that it will keep the treats fresher than they would be in the original cardboard box or one of those plastic bags where the zip closure never works. It's only 8" tall, that's only about the width of a standard piece of paper so it may be smaller than what you expect, but still holds a good number of treats. I bought this for my son who intends on becoming a firefighter, and is away at college with his Golden Retriever.

Rated 5 out of 5 by MsTori cute design perfect size for treat bags
this tin has a great antique style design and is much more attractive than having all those little bags of treats around. I use it to store the various baggies of treats I have around and it fits them all quite nicely (I have the Blue bits soft training treats, kong dental rawhide chew sticks and Blue puppy bars and the puppy bars is the only bag I have to fold over). I keep the treats in their bags so I can't say whether it keeps things fresh but it's a great design and I love having somewhere cute to store all the treats!
