Orijen 6 Fish Grain-Free Formula Dry Dog Food Customer Reviews

The absolute best dog food money can buy.... I am a scientist and I will not use a product unless I do thorough research. My black lab is 2 1/2 years old and goes crazy when it is time to eat. His skin is super healthy and his fur feels like cashmere! I am in cancer research and I know that diet plays an important role in reducing risk. I will never change his food nor will I change the place in which I buy it. Chewy.com's customer service is excellent. My baby Jag is worth every penny this food costs. How can you put a $ value on health anyway? December 15, 2012
Fabulous Results on our Rescue We acquired a second German Shepherd puppy who had been fed very cheap (generic brand) dog food. I gasped when I read the ingredients, the first several being various forms of corn, and the protein being "meat by-products." I was told she ate like a horse, yet she was very bony. She also had several bald spots where she bit and chew her itchy skin, and her fur felt dry and stiff like wire. Our other GSD has been on Orijen Large Breed Puppy, but, because of the rescue's apparent skin issues, we decided to put her on 6-Fish. Not only has she gained a healthy 7 pounds of muscle, her bald spots are gone, and she no longer bites at her skin. Her coat is also softer and very shiny #see photo.# Our vet is impressed by how much she's improved in just a matter of weeks - I gave all the credit to Orijen 6-fish! September 18, 2012
The perfect food for Siberian Huskies! I have 2 very hard working Siberian Huskies that mush and run year round. These pups are a high energy breed that is notorious for having digestive issues. Siberians were actually bred for thousands of years in the Arctic and thus were fed mainly fish, seal blubber, and reindeer meat. This grain-free fish based kibble is the closest you can come to their natural diet in a prepared dog food! The high protein percentage is also very important for working dogs. I would highly recommend this food for any Northern breed. It may seem expensive, but since there is no filler, you will find your dog needs less food. And with the elimination of digestive issues, a healthier dog means fewer vet bills! (An interesting note: the same company also produces Arcana fish based dog food for dogs that get less exercise. It has a lower percentage of protein, but the same high-quality ingredients.) April 10, 2012
A great food for my pup I am a vet with a rescue Labrador. The big question for me when selecting a food was not what she would like (she's a Lab, we have yet to find what she doesn't like), but what would really bring out her best. The best is defined as that slick, really shiny coat, enough protein to keep her active all day, and ingredients I could trust. Orijen gets all their ingredients from Canada and doesn't source from China. The protein content is from real, high-quality sources - the food is such high-quality that you don't have to feed very much to get your calorie requirements met, so keep that in mind. And her coat always looks beautiful! We get many comments on she fabulous coat. When we switched to something else briefly, the coat was still lovely, but not as shiny from those great fish fats! The Best of the Best Simply put, if you want a sleek, vibrant and healthy pet, feed Orijen products. I use Orijen Fish Dry Dog Food for my 4 canine friends, and it successfully minimizes skin issues that, prior to them eating Orijen, were driving them crazy, and draining my checkbook for vet bills. Yes, this is expensive food, but you get what you pay for (and you feed less of this than foods loaded with fillers). The first ingredient is salmon. The others are equally healthy additions. No grain. My dogs have virtually no flatulence, and their stools are compact and have minimal odor. Their coats shine like wet seals.... try it, you'll love it! May 27, 2012
Lacy & Percy love Orijen! Orijen must taste great because our two dogs love it. We love it because it is good for them. Although they are big dogs (collie & shepherd), they have sensitive tummies & Orijen never causes dietary distress. They have gone from Orijen puppy food to adult. Fish is their favorite. We won't feed them anything but Orijen! January 29, 2013
Reduced allergy licking I'm only giving this product four stars at this time, because it's too early to tell how well Orijen 6 Fish Dry Dog Food will affect my Beagle's paw and leg licking. But after only two weeks she has greatly reduced her licking. We've tried all sorts of food before this, but Orijen looks like a potential winner. July 21, 2012
Fabulous dog food. My Australian Shepherd Mix has been on this food for almost 4 years and I can't say enough good things about this food and what it has done for my dog. When I originally decided to switch my dogs kibble several years ago, I wanted to make sure that if my dog had to eat one food for the rest of his life, it would be something of high quality and make him healthier and happier. My dog suffers from a rare hair condition and this food keeps what little hair he has in fabulous shape. He also has a very sensitive stomach, and this has done wonders for him. It also gives hims incredible energy, more energy than any other food I have ever given him. His stools are also more dense, darker and smaller compared to his stools when he was on a variety of different kibble brands. There was one time a couple years ago, when there was an orijen shortage due to something with the facility, I can't remember now, and I was recommended to switch to Evo. I could immediately see a difference in his hair, it became weaker, thinner and more dull and his energy weakened. Thankfully the shortage did not last long, and I was able to return to Orijen. I would highly recommend Orijen. January 18, 2013
