Orijen Adult Freeze-Dried Dog Food, 16-oz bag

Evolved as carnivores, all dogs are biologically adapted to thrive on a varied diet of fresh whole meats with small amounts of fresh fruits, berries, and grasses. That’s why Orijen Adult Freeze-Dried Dog Food is loaded with meat ingredients (90%), including a Biologically Appropriate symphony of cage-free chicken, turkey and nest-laid eggs from local farms, plus wild-caught herring and flounder from North Vancouver Island — all delivered to Orijen's kitchen fresh, where they’re flash frozen and gently freeze-dried to lock in their goodness and taste. Brimming with goodness to nourish your dog completely, Orijen Adult Freeze-Dried Dog Food features poultry and fish in authentic Whole Prey ratios — including richly nourishing liver and heart, marrow and cartilage which supply essential vitamins and minerals in natural form, dramatically reducing the need for synthetic ingredients in Orijen foods.

Orijen Adult Freeze-Dried Dog Food Customer Reviews

Rated 4.8 out of 5 by 40 reviewers.
Rated 5 out of 5 by Excellent - our dog loves it! Our Great Dane thinks they are very tasty. Her eyes get big when the bag comes out. They are very nutritious and fulfilling and give her lots of energy. Seems to be a quality product with no fillers. We sometimes re-hydrate them with low sodium chicken broth. Mixes it up and our Dane loves them. Nice addition to her Orijen kibble. November 4, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great dog food! Our picky dog loves this food and it is made with great ingredients and really easy to use. We mix it with dry dog food so we we use less of it, since it can be expensive. It also doesn't have rosemary, which is hard to find in a dog food. There are some dogs that have experienced seizures with rosemary, so we were looking for a dog food without it. On a side note: If you need this food fast, you are better off finding a store that sells it, or trying a different site. But the dog food is a great quality product! September 17, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great but really expensive. Great but really expensive. My dogs love it. Unfortunately I feed it only once a week. February 26, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great as a topper! I use this as a topper for my 3 large breed dogs. They love it! I like being able to add a bit of the benefits of a raw diet. This is easy to mix and feed. Would be terrific when traveling! September 22, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by My Dog Max Loves This Orijen Food!! My Dog Max Really Likes the New Freeze-Dried Dog Food I Mix It With His Dry Orijen Kibble & He Eats It With No Problem Definitely Recommend This Product :)) December 3, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Freeze dried is the best, but pricey! Seems like my dog loves the 3 different brands of freeze dried. I happen to like Orijen the most because of other people's comment. They are pricey but I give it to my dog as a treat every couple of days to justify the price. It goes well with the Orijen dry food. November 25, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great product for our rving family We are always on the go and in an rv we have to be aware of the weight we put into our rv. This new freeze-dried food has been the perfect addition giving us a quality meal for our pets with less room and far less weight. September 19, 2013
Rated 4 out of 5 by Re-hydration required and portion size appears smaller My 22lb Terrier eats anything put in his bowl. I gave him 2-1/2 - 3 'medallions' of this food crumbled and re hydrated with 1/3 cup of warm water. The portion looked like less than I would normally feed him. I added about 4 oz of good quality kibble, plus a 1/2 teaspoon of fish oil. He's eaten this for two weeks and is quite happy, although he is drinking more than he did when being fed my home-made dog food. My main concern with this freeze-dried food is the cost. At 16 oz per bag listed at $37.19, it is too expensive to sustain feeding this food. Secondly, I believe that the manufacturer unrealistically states the amount required for an adequate meal for my dog. I value the alleged high quality ingredients, the 'paleo' approach, and the attention to the balance of nutrients, but I will continue looking for an affordable alternative. February 13, 2015
