Rated 4 out of 5 by aimeesayshi Makes it easier to feed my puppy
As other reviewers have said, the food doesn't just drop usually. But, for me anyway, its no big deal because I can just shake it a little bit and food comes down and it makes it easier to feed him. If you want an automatic feeder to leave home for an overnight trip or something, I would get another feeder.

It's a nice size and I don't have to fill it for a few days which is what I wanted. What I also wanted was for the food to drop on it's own and refill the food dish which it does not. When I tilt it and shake the food drops down easy enough but doesn't solve the issue of what to do if I go away overnight! There is a plastic piece in the opening I am going to try taking out to see if that stops food flow restriction.

I have one of these for my cats. It works well for them as their food is smaller and goes through easier. The Hill Science Diet Puppy food was fairly large balls and it didn't flow that easily.
I bought Blue Buffalo Wilderness Chicken Recipe Grain-Free Dry Dog Food that has smaller bits. I haven't tried it yet but I think it will work OK.

Rated 3 out of 5 by Alyson Flow of food not great
The food does not flow down as freely as my previous feeder. I have to tilt the bowl forward & tap the food down when the bowl is empty. Unless my kittens figure out how to dig at the food to get it to come down, I may be resorting to my old feeder.
