Product Description

Nothing's more fun than playing off leash, but when you have four lumbering limbs, a large mouth, and a curious personality it's important to follow the rules. The PetSafe big Dog Remote Trainer helps keep large dogs in line by allowing you to deliver harmless, annoying static correction or a high-pitched tone to get your dog's attention when instinct wins over manners. The remote and waterproof receiver collar have a 100 yard range, which is great because there's a lot of things to distract a pup while chasing a ball the length of a football field.

Rated 4 out of 5 by I love this product! We bought this collar for our German Sheperd mix, Bowie back in March as an alternative to an invisible fence. He kept leaving our yard and chasing the neighborhood stray. We started seeing an improvement right away! The tone feature is nice, we used it as a warning before delivering a shock and after only a few times he started responding only to the sound. He's like a different dog when we put this collar on! He runs out, pees, poops and runs back. It's also great for hiking as he generally wants to be ahead of us, with the collar on he's not pulling us up mountains and he stays very close. The only reason why I didn't give this product 5 stars is bc the battery died after a months use and those batteries are very expensive. Other than that, it's a great product that continues to work for us! As for anybody thinking about ordering anything at all from Chewy.com, do it! Their customer service is great, they check up on you to make sure you're happy with your product and the product arrived when expected. April 28, 2016
Rated 2 out of 5 by Not for my dog My 1 year old, 60# Shepherd mix loves to jump up on people and she can get nippy with my husband at times. Usually a firm "no" gets her attention, but with these two issues nothing seemed to work. My co-worker suggested to try an electric collar since she had great success with one on her Doberman. I really didn't want to pay $200 for one, so I was excited when I found one for a cheaper price on Chewy. The collar was easy to fit, but the batteries were a little hard to get in the collar. The instructions are pretty simple. We tested the collar with the tester chip that was included. Everything seemed to be in working order. The shock levels go from 1L-8L to 1H-8H. We started out on the lowest setting and slowly increased to see what level my dog reacted to. She did not react to any of the L settings. She then would sometimes react to 6H, but it wasn't consistent at all. We trimmed up the hair around her neck because we thought the hair might have been getting in the way. She responded better, but when we corrected her for nipping it would cause her to bite even more. We have since switched to correcting her with her prong collar and that has helped way more (and without making her biting worse). May 21, 2016
Rated 1 out of 5 by Not Efficient Found this product and after reading the reviews, I was SUPER excited to try on my very stubborn 130lb Cane Corso Puppy. He is a great dog, but has an issue with running off outside. Although he is a big baby and very harmless, I fear that he will run up on the wrong person, who doesn't know him and they'll shoot him because of his size. I tried this on him first in our garage (on the highest setting) and he did great. I figured since he was so responsive, I would try him outside in the unfenced front yard. He did awesome out there, too, until he heard a dog down the street barking. He took off and ended up getting into an altercation. I HELD the button down the entire time and he was unphased. I tried the collar out on myself before this, also, and even at the highest setting, it wasn't strong enough to give me a kick. I also tried this on my 25lb Shepherd mix (who has a higher pain tolerance than my beast) and she didn't seem phased either. Wouldn't recommend for any dog that has a high pain tolerance; regardless of size. February 11, 2016
Rated 4 out of 5 by Easy to use, adjustable settings I was really hesitant to buy one of these collars for my puppy, but after two years we decided to give it a shot. Before putting it on him I felt every setting on my own hand. It really isn't painful, I was was surprised. It IS annoying which is perfect in my oppinion. I also LOVE the tone setting on there, I'm using it as a similar way to clicker training and my dog learned a new trick in the first day using the tone setting :). My dog is a 75 pound lab and the first four levels or so don't even really phase him. If we are outside we really have to use levels 6-8. We don't have to hold down the button for very long to get his attention though and he has started behaving just by having the collar on. Walking him is SO much easier now, I have two dogs, and walking them both at the same time used to be a frustrating process but this has REALLY helped. March 27, 2016
Rated 3 out of 5 by Probably very effective for many dogs, just not for mine. I have a 1 year old American Lab that I'd have to literally hit him in the head with a hammer to get him to stop something he's really focused on (I don't, by the way)..even though he's a real character, I used positive reinforcement. However a number of people use it and find it effective., I thought I'd give it a try when he became really rebellious...didn't work for him, and I'm not going to use an "8" which when I tried it on my arm hurt like heck, and he didn't even notice. Generally people who use that type of training are satisfied....it just didn't work for me dog, who is like an Ever Ready Bunny on crack! April 29, 2016
Rated 4 out of 5 by Good product Once we determined how to set this product up, it has worked well for our needs. Interestingly enough, our dog wasn't as phased by it but it's worked well May 18, 2016
Rated 2 out of 5 by Not right for my pets I got two of these collars for my 6 month old Doberman and an American Bulldog. Both dogs never listen and still continued to not listen with the collars on. I tried the shock levels on all low and high levels and they didn't hurt/surprise me at all. I wouldn't buy this if you have a stubborn/high energy dog. April 25, 2016
Rated 1 out of 5 by Shocking is low The delivery was fast. But it does not give an adiquet shock to my large dog, " Labrador/ American Stratford shire". So my review is low, think I will have to spend the big bucks for a better one. Don't waste your money, like I did. April 4, 2016
