Rated 5 out of 5Â by TTerrell Thank you Purina for making this dog food
Our 2 Shih Tzus have terrible allergies. Thanks to our vet for recommending this dog food. Have gone thru just about every expensive dog food on the market to help my babies not scratch themselves to death. The medication has helped, but with this right dog food, I have not had to give them their medication as often and they do have to see their vet as often. Thanks so much, if you have any animals with skins allergies, I highly recommend this dog food, you wont be sorry.

My Maggie has food allergies and this food is one that she will eat and it seems to help somewhat. Have always been exceptionally annoyed that it required a prescription (it is DOG FOOD! I don't even get prescriptions for people food!)but had that issue resolved here so I will definitely reorder.

We've tried a dozen dog foods and this one works. It keeps our Havanese from being itchy. Thank you Purina and Chewy for making the transaction so easy!

I have a pit bull with sensitive skin and food allergies. We used to feed her a fish and potato food, but her coat was still not as nice as I thought it should be. We switched her over to HA 3 weeks ago. Her coat is soft, shiny and so far no skin infections. When we were in the process of switching her over she actually picked out the HA and ate it first. We are very happy with the change so far.

Rated 4 out of 5Â by Toridog Helped her skin and snoring
The HA really helped our Shih Tzu's flakey skin and snoring. At first, we resisted giving her white kibble, but after 4 years, she still likes it and it helps her. Probiotics and Reiki treatments are helping, too. Thanks to Chewy for letting us order directly, instead of through a vet.

Rated 5 out of 5Â by Mimi73 a great product for some, but not, all dogs
I remember when my 2 year old Shih Tzu became extremely ill. I rushed her to our vet, and he gently told me that Lily was extremely ill, and that it would take both of us to get her well, but that I should not get my hopes up.
He explained about the new type of food that she must start eating. Thankfully I had never fed her any other food except Science Diet - in other words, no table scraps and no human food or treats.
It was touch and go for the next week or so - many times I thought that Lily had died, as did my then 8 year old Lhasa Apso
Sophie. The 2 dogs had become very close - and I knew that the loss of either of them would be a big blow to the survivor of them.
Finally Lily started pulling out - I'm a widow and was living alone at the time. She was fed many times during the day at night - enough to keep her alive but not too much.
Had it not been for Purina's Veterinary Diet HS Hypoallergenic Canine Formula, Lily would not be here with us tonight. She's a cute and highly intelligent little dog, and I'm so glad that she is well and is able to stay well. I don't feed her any food at all except the above mentioned food, and Purina, thank you so much.

Rated 5 out of 5Â by mollydahma This dog food is a miracle!
My young German Shepherd has been scratching his ears for awhile. My vet suggested a year ago that he suspected a food allergy. Gunner had been eating another top quality food both as a puppy and as an adult. I tried various limited ingredient and hypoallergenic food. No apparent change. My ancient Afghan Hound (rug dog) is dormant and eats the same food as Gunner. I tried Purina HA and within 2-3 days, Gunner is hardly scratching his ears at all and Molly the Rug Dog is now outside every day and much more active in the house! It is expensive but well worth it. Just like human health, you will either pay the money for quality food, or it will paid dearly in other ways.
