helps my dog-that's what counts My little Peke, Lexi needs this food and she really likes it too! The price here is the best, and I couldn't believe it arrived the next day! Thanks so much. February 24, 2014
My dog liked this food. Our vet recommend we feed our dog a food with less protein in it due to our dogs dimished kidney function. Our dog likes this food, but a word of caution. Your dog will loose weight on this food because of the reduced protein in it. Ours lost 7 lbs. in 3 weeks. Per our vet, we now have changed from all NF to half NF and half her regular food. Our dog is happy and gaining weight again. Be vigilant when using any of these prescription or specialized dog foods. January 27, 2014
Great food My German Shepherd was diagnosed 2 years ago with kidney disease, the food she was on, a competitor, she started to not eat it.So I bought Purina Kidney function for her to try. I bought a 6# bag to see if she would eat it. She loved it. Put the bowl on the floor 5 minutes later GONE.Great food March 29, 2014
It is a good product for dogs with special needs. I found through a friend that owns a dog grooming salon. She asked how my puppy/ dog was doing. I mentioned that my baby now has to be on a special diet for her kidneys. She then told me about the Chewy site. I decided to try it. It is unfortunate that my dog has to be on a special plan, but thus far it is working; so I will continue to use the Purina NF product and order on-line. February 26, 2014
Much cheaper than buying it from my vet Much cheaper than getting it from my vet who recommended it for my dog who just went through her third bladder stone operation. She likes the taste but then again, she is not very picky. February 23, 2014
Difficult food to find So glad that Chewy has this special formula food for my beautiful dog that has liver disease. She thrives on it because of the reduced protein. Glad you have it available so easily. December 28, 2014
GREAT FOR A PICKY EATER My pug is a very picky eater. I had used kidney function food that my vet sold. Not only did I have to make a 20 mile trip to buy it but my dog didn't seem to like it. He seems to like this although I do mix a spoonful of wet food with it. It arrived in two days which was also great. December 21, 2014
Good Kidney Function kibble The key with any of these special foods is whether your dog will eat it. I always try to vary what I feed my dog, I think it gives him variety and helps prevent boredom. Since he went on a renal diet I do as well. This is one of three dry foods that I rotate through (Hills and Royal Canin are others). He seems to like this one. I usually mix with some canned renal food. At his last vet visit his numbers were perfect so the new diet must be working. December 9, 2014
