Rated 5 out of 5 by He will eat it Our Boykin has many allergic symptoms, and we are starting with food, so he has been prescribed this formula. He usually eats what we eat, so this has been quite a transition, but he will eat it. He also takes a couple of meds, and we had used pill pockets, which we can't use anymore. I ground up this feed and mixed with water and baked at 350 in a mini muffin pan. It makes treats that are soft and I can hide his pills in them. Pleased so far! April 16, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great alternative protein My new small breed pup was having severe diarrhea for several months. Finally decided to use (with vet's approval) Royal Canin PS (soy potato) kibble. He could not digest ANY animal proteins at the time and his ribs were showing. This is for a regular size dog so I put it in a small zip bag and pounded it into smaller bite size pieces. He could not use the vet recommended pro-biotics as some ingredient was from meat. These Essential Enzymes were what they say: "Essential" as he seemed to be having problems with his Pancreas (B-12 was low). Over these past few months he has stopped having runny stools, gained weight, is able to have chopped apples and chopped lettuce in his food thanks to the enzymes. He is now having some Royal Canin PW (potato whitefish) gradually worked into his diet. I know that the pro-biotics ALONG WITH the Enzymes in Animal Essentials Plant Enzymes & Probiotics Dog & Cat Supplement is one of the key ingredients that saved this little one. February 26, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Good bye chicken...she loves fish and white potatoes! So we discovered my schnoodle has a chicken allergy, itching and scratching and breaking out with skin issues. The vet dermatologist recommended a quality fish and potato recipe with limited ingredients. It is pricy, but when you have a doggie that has digestive issues and needs to remain on low crude fat and is now allergic to chicken it is a super choice. The transition was easy and she soon rejected the Royal Canin Gastro formula with chicken. March 16, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Saved my dog! My pointer has IBD. He dropped 1/3 of his body weight and this was the only food that did not irritate and helped him begin to digest his food again and gain weight back. He has been eating it for a number of years now and still loves it both for his meals and as a treat. Mixed with a probiotic - VSL#3, this has saved his life! March 18, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Thank heavens for this food! I have 2 dogs (sisters) that are allergic to most everything that pet food is made of. Chicken, salmon, pork, soy, rabbit, venison....trying to find a food that doesn't contain any of the above...and this is it! February 19, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by My pug loves it! I have had a hard time finding lower calorie hypoallergenic food for my pug. After researching, I ordered this and my dog loves it. January 28, 2016
Rated 4 out of 5 by Good product when needed We are very happy with -- their prompt shipping and customer service. This product is a special diet that requires a vet prescription. If you need it, you will probably be satisfied. It is extremely expensive, and unfortunately our dog seriously dislikes the flavor. We have to add some inviting odors (sardines in water; small pieces of chicken, etc.) in order to get him to eat. His health, nevertheless, has improved a great deal on this diet. He has Addison's disease with some possible other (intestinal) issues. Purina (a Nestle's company) is not my favorite corporation, but I have to express gratitude that this diet seems to be helping our dog. July 31, 2015
