Royal Canin Veterinary Diet Urinary SO Moderate Calorie Dry Dog Food

Lower urinary tract disease (LUTD) refers to a group of disorders that commonly leads to irritation of the urinary tract and corresponding undesirable clinical signs.

What causes Lower Urinary Tract Disease? In dogs, bacterial infections of the urinary tract and the presence of stones (uroliths) in the urinary tract are the most common causes. This diet promotes a urinary environment unfavorable to the development of both struvite and calcium oxalate crystals.

Key Benefits

  • Recommended for dogs at risk of developing lower urinary tract disease and who are predisposed to weight gain
  • Dissolution of pure struvite uroliths
  • Help prevent struvite, calcium oxalate and phosphate uroliths
  • Provides nutrition that aids in the management of pure struvite uroliths
  • Moderate calorie content, compared to URINARY SO , to help maintain ideal weight
  • Relative Super Saturation (RSS) methodology predicts the crystallization potential of urine; RSS is used to develop diets that lower the concentration of ions contributing to struvite and calcium oxalate urolithiasis
  • Increasing the urine volume simultaneously reduces the saturation of urine with calcium oxalate and struvite crystals

Helps control bladder stones in Buddy I love the quick service I get when I order. Buddy does a Lot better with the urinary diet since he has bladder stones. I wish they had a dog treat with the same urinary track benefits. November 21, 2013
Good option for overweight senior dog My 9 year old Corgi has had a bladder stone removed (awful surgery for him). The vet and I tried a few foods before we found Royal Canin Veterinary Diet Urinary SO Moderate Calorie Dry Dog Food. In addition to the bladder stones my dog has a food allergy and is a bit overweight. This food agrees with his stomach and is low-cal. We are satisfied with this food. September 23, 2013
Exactly what our Vet. prescribed. Little bites work great with our little chihuahua. She loves it and it's gone soon after we put it out. She has had no gastric symptoms, no soft and no smelly bowel movements. Costs a lot less here than on Amazon. June 27, 2013
My Sweet Daisy likes it !! This is unusual for my Daisy because she hated the regular kind of the SO food. Now I don't worry so much about her not eating. May 14, 2013
Excellent service! Since our dog has to be on the special diet, per the vet, our own vet keeps on screwing up the order every time it is placed, so our alternative was to find a source other than our vet to purchase said product. Chewy has been great, they never screwed our order up and the price is much lower than our vets price which is a win win situation! Thank you for your prompt service and great prices, you've got a customer for life! December 28, 2013
The product is great for us! Urinary SO has helped prevent our little Daisy from getting any more of the urinary tract infections! We recently switched her over to the moderate calorie and she seems to like this even better! Great service and speedy delivery! July 24, 2013
Wonderful product, my dog loves it. My rescued dog had a bladder stone which she had to have surgery for. My vet recommended the Royal Canin diet. She recently had a ultra sound and she is still free and clear of any stones. Since she was gaining weight we thought the moderate calorie Royal Canin was the best for her. It is a wonderful food and my mini schnauzer loves it. March 14, 2014
My dog doesn't like the taste. I bought this product because my dog will be on it for life and it is cheaper than feeding her the canned dog food. I have no problem getting her to eat the canned food but she is reluctant to eat the dry. I have to add a little chicken broth to her food to get her to eat it. Just wish this was made to taste a better because it is less expensive in the long run than canned food. I buy both dried and canned and switch them out to give her a variety. July 24, 2014
