Product Description

Lower urinary tract disease (LUTD) refers to a group of disorders that commonly leads to irritation of the urinary tract and corresponding undesirable clinical signs.

What causes Lower Urinary Tract Disease? In dogs, bacterial infections of the urinary tract and the presence of stones (uroliths) in the urinary tract are the most common causes. This diet promotes a urinary environment unfavorable to the development of both struvite and calcium oxalate crystals.

Key Benefits

  • Recommended for dogs at risk of developing lower urinary tract disease and who are predisposed to weight gain
  • Dissolution of pure struvite uroliths
  • Help prevent struvite, calcium oxalate and phosphate uroliths
  • Provides nutrition that aids in the management of pure struvite uroliths
  • Moderate calorie content, compared to URINARY SO , to help maintain ideal weight
  • Relative Super Saturation (RSS) methodology predicts the crystallization potential of urine; RSS is used to develop diets that lower the concentration of ions contributing to struvite and calcium oxalate urolithiasis
  • Increasing the urine volume simultaneously reduces the saturation of urine with calcium oxalate and struvite crystals

Customer Reviews

Rated 4.8 out of 5 by 103 reviewers.
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great, Tasty product (wet or dry) My vet recommended this product because my dog had calcium oxalate bladder stones. After surgery to remove the stones and determination of what type they were, I was told that my dogs diet needed to change. I was worried because my dog is a fussy eater and I had given him "people" food. My dog absolutely loved the canned type the vet had provided and ate it up without a problem. I decided to order the dry online and he loved it also!! I was so happy that this new food was not going to be a problem for my picky eater. :) May 22, 2016

Rated 5 out of 5 by Amazing service This was my first order with Chewy, it happened to be a perscription order for dog food. Chewy worked with our vet to get all the right info and a few days later my order arrived. Nicely packaged and right on time. I set myself up on auto shipment and I look forward to the great customer service. Thanks May 14, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Recommend this product Our Bulldogs (Zoey & Abby) have both been battling a UTI that they seem to pass back and forth between them. Our Vet recommended that we put them on Urinary diet. And as both are a little overweight, we selected the moderate calorie version. Both are doing well on the new food and the UTI's appear to be dissipating (hopefully). May 12, 2016

Rated 5 out of 5 by Awesome service! I received a flyer in the mail and decided to give it a try. My usual two different dog foods were available so I ordered both. The auto-ship feature is great and the 5% discount is worth not having to go chase after dog food to make sure I don't run out. I was amazed that my order arrived within 2 days, shipped with FedEx at no charge. Keep up the good work! May 7, 2016
