The gastrointestinal tract includes the esophagus, stomach, small intestine, large intestine, and colon. Therefore, gastrointestinal disease is defined as any abnormality involving one or more of these structures. By feeding your pet a diet that contains precise amounts of key nutrients, you can:

  • Help minimize vomiting, diarrhea,or constipation.
  • Help to support and improve the function of the gastrointestinal structures.
  • Maintain or improve appetite.

The GASTROINTESTINAL diet is formulated to help maintain the balance of gastrointestinal microflora and intestinal mucosal integrity

Key Benefits

  • Low fat concentration improves digestive function in dogs with hyperlipidemia or pancreatitis
  • Low fiber content ensures high digestibility, nutrient absorption, and limits colonic fermentation

Sick English Mastiff My English Mastiff who is 4 years old was hospitalized for 4 days with a bought of Pancrentitis. He was placed on the Royal Canin Gastrointestinal Lo Fat Dry Dog Food and I did purchase cans of the same in wet. He has done very well and seems to like the taste. No issue thus far. Expensive, but the vet bill was over $2000.00 so what is worse. A health beautiful English Mastiff or a sick miserable family member? I would recommend this food to everyone. Diana September 10, 2012
Excellent food for pancreatitis dog Every since our 6 year old puggle was diagnosed with pancreatitis, she has been on this food. She has maintained her slim figure and has not had a relapse! I highly recommend this food if your dog has been diagnosed with pancreatitis. It is an RX so ask your vet! August 21, 2012
No more digestive issues with my Standard Poodles I would highly recommend this Dog Food as my Standard Poodle suffered with digestive disturbances and high liver count from some of the other grain free dog foods. This seems the best and no problems, liver count is back to near normal. April 28, 2013
it is a product that one of my dogs suddenly needed the product seems to be helping my dog - she will be on it for the rest of her life. wish it didn't cost so much. January 14, 2013
This product is great for dogs with digestive problems. Since switching to this product, my 11 year old dog's digestive problems have gone away. August 19, 2012
The product is effective. The Royal Canin GI diet has controlled our dog's diarrhea that is unexplained by clinical laboratory tests and physical examination. He seems to like it and that was a big advantage over other brands. July 27, 2012
My girls love it! Both my girls, a Scottie and a Staffy, have sensitive stomachs and are older dogs. This is the first food they they not only love to eat, but stays down all day as well. August 24, 2012
