Product Description

This Royal Canin formula is designed exclusively for pure breed Yorkshire Terriers over 10 months. The Yorkie’s silky coat is different from other breeds, growing in single strands, without an undercoat. The Yorkie can also be a picky eater, judging both the smell and taste of food; therefore, palatability is crucial to ensure their acceptance of a food. That's why it's important to feed a diet that's tailor-made for their specific needs.

Formulated for Yorkshire Terriers

Royal Canin's Yorkshire Terrier Adult Dry Dog Food is designed exclusively for pure breed Yorkshire Terriers over 10 months.

Coat health: Yorkshire Terriers' hair is known for its continuous growth and natural softness. This exclusive formula is enriched with Omega-3 fatty acids (EPA and DHA), Omega-6 fatty acids and biotin to help maintain coat health.

Satisfies fussy appetites: This breed is known to have a fussy appetite, so they need a very palatable food. Yorkshire Terrier Adult Dry Dog Food satisfies the fussiest of appetites with a combination of exceptional aromas and flavors.

Healthy aging support: Yorkshire Terriers typically have a long life expectancy, so this formula supplies a selection of nutrients to help maintain health in mature dogs.

Exclusive Kibble

Yorkshire Terrier muzzles are relatively short, and their teeth meet in a level bite. The kibble in this formula is designed with the optimal size, shape and texture for Yorkshire Terriers to encourage chewing.

Why Pure Breed Dogs Need Tailored Nutrition

From their personalities to their distinctive physiologies, pure breed dogs have unique characteristics that make them sought-after and beloved companions. When choosing a formula, it's important to keep in mind the unique characteristics of your breed including:

Face and Jaw: All dogs fall into two basic jaw types: Brachycephalic or mesocephalic. Breeds with short, broad muzzles (like Bulldogs) are examples of a brachycephalic jaw. Breeds with a longer muzzle (like Labrador Retrievers) are examples of mesocephalic breeds. The jaw type, and even biting patterns can affect how a breed picks up kibble.

Skin Types: The skin's most important function is to serve as a barrier of protection-but not all breeds have the same skin type. From wrinkled and folded (which traps heat and moisture) to sensitive or water resistant, precise levels of key nutrients help to support a breed's unique skin health needs.

Distinctive Coats: There's more to a coat than meets the eye. From the color and texture to undercoats, each pure breed dog has a unique coat with unique needs.

Rated 3 out of 5 by Tuck and Karlie's favorite We've tried other brands of kibble dog food and keep coming back to the only brand both dogs eat w/out fuss. I leave kibble out all day cuz they're small dogs and prone to low blood sugar, this seems to fit the bill with their needs. This site has the best price I've found. I'll be a regular! Rated 4 out of 5 by Pickey dogs eat it up After trials with many more errors than success of different "supposedly" top quality dry foods for Yorkies in small bites( not wanting to use canned food) FINALLY discovered Royal Canin for Yorkshire in a bite size mine can chew and they eat it right up (use a designated small measure scoop by Our Vet)No more too big of bites making chewing and swallowing difficult or getting the "I'm not eating this" look,am sure others know "the look" also too well. Empty dish every time and have been using several months. Grateful they seem to have more playfulness and energy, excited and ready to eat at mealtime! No more upset stomachs or choking trying to eat. I'm grateful they're content and loving their food. I Definately recommend giving a try for Frustrated owners. Mine are happy AND sleep all night now too! March 31, 2016

Rated 5 out of 5 by Great size nuggets My Yorkie, Sadie Loves this food! She eats every piece. She has also stopped scratching incessantly. We may have found the right food for her!! March 22, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Royal Canin for Yorkies My yorkie, Hannah, loves the royal canin for Yorkies. She eats every pellet. The pellets are small in size so it is easy for my yorkie to eat this perfect bite size for her. What I do with Hannah's food is I warm water and pour a little of the warm water over the royal canin pellets which creates a little gravy and Hannah loves it! She also likes the dry pellets as well. I think Hannah believes the dry pellets are good tasting treats! :) Since I began feeding Hannah the royal canin food she always eats everything not leaving anything on her plate. She really loves it. Thanks. February 26, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Highly recommend Arnie is now 8 years old and has always been on Royal since he came into our home. He has never had any issues with his bowl movements and tummy. His coat is very glossy and I can mostly comb right thru it. His teeth are excellent and from what all the vets have said most Yorkies have many issues with their teeth and tarter. You would never know that he is as old as he is since he is always full of fun! February 1, 2016
